My Fiancee noticed that certain ebay sellers must be buying from flea markets, then selling on ebay. The sellers are obviously not video game collectors because my Fiancee found an entry for Equinox entitled Fouinox LOL I searched ebay for Fouinox and voila! I found Equinox. I can't stop laughing. I've never seen this before. Anyone else notice Fouinox or any other odd entries?

Best way to make a killing used to be looking for typos for TurboGrafx-16, since it's always a high-value system to collect for.  It's not as good as it used to be however, since ebay now has categories for the systems.

a typo is normal: gsmr for game, since the letters are close together on a qwerty keyboard. But a complete lack of knowledge is a whole other issue. Obviously, the seller does not know that the name of the game is Equinox. I can see why it could happen due to the artistic lettering. However, the example that I have found on ebay is being sold by a video game store owner. What? you sell video games but do not even know the appropriate titles? unbelievable yet funny.  :)

You have a good point Ozzy_98: I will search for typos and odd interpretations. maybe I will get lucky and find a rare game for a good price  ;D

By the way, I must be completely honest: I have never heard of TurboGrafx games until 1998. I started researching games online and stumbled across TurboGrafx articles on gaming websites. I still have limited knowledge of these games. I'm a moderate gamer. I'm now a member of the 40 something club, so i'm not a novice but I do not remember hearing this name when I was growing up. I didn't even know what Neo-Geo was until I started researching video games. Interesting.

Look for aladdin deck enhancer games, you find all sorts of games mislabeled. Deck enhancer games were much smaller than standard nes carts, but people see metallic carts, think it's something rare.

I once found a really good deal in a R.O.B. for the NES.  The seller was inexperienced and titled the auction “R.O.B. Robot Operating Buddy.”  This is absolutely correct.  However, his mistake was that most people don’t enter the periods when they search for R.O.B.  I was watching three different auctions for R.O.B. at the same time.  Two of the auctions included both “R.O.B.” and “ROB” in the auction title.  However, the third auction was missing the “ROB” (without the periods).  Therefore, only someone as OCD as myself would even find the auction.  While the other two auctions ended around $120 with multiple bidders, I won mine for less than $50.  That was the starting price and I was the only bidder.  For the record, all three were fully functional R.O.B.s with complete Gyromite parts.  I was so happy with my purchase, I actually think that Gyromite is a really fun game.

I hope everyone can follow all of that.......... :P

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Funny story. I showed it to my Fiancee, we both giggled. Good stuff. I'm hoping to find something similar with SNES games.

It was a way to try to make cheaper carts, so nothing special on it.  The deck enhancer had some of the chips used by all games, basic mapper and nes10 chip ect, and the games were stripped down carts with just the game\graphics.  A whole bunch of new stock was found years ago, so you can buy the system and all 6 games, unopened, for about $100.

I've got 3 ROBs. Every single one I've got has been $10.
One was complete in the box with Gyromite and duck hunt. One was by himself but with all his parts. The last one was missing all parts and broken. All found within the last 2 years.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Oh yeah? Do you R.O.B. owners also have Stack Up with all the parts? I do! Got it before the dark times, before the Empire (of the internet that is), or at least before I had internet. I found it for $15 complete from some mail order catalog in California called Game Dude. Have one ROB permanantly with the Gyromite parts and the other with the Stack Up parts. I think I got both of the robots for free from the game store I used to work at. That was definatly before eBay existed, when people used to throw out stuff they knew nothing about, with no way to research. Man, I really miss those days...

So jealous of you ROB owners.  Just about the only first-party NES accessory I don't have.  Just so much other cheapish stuff I want to add to my collection that I don't want to spend crazy bucks on 1 thing that I wouldn't really use too much if I'm being honest.  And deals like you all are talking about... I don't see those all that often, especially not for Nintendo stuff.

I have R.O.B.

I have full Gyromite set for it.

I have full Stack-up set for it.
I have full unopened Jap Stac-up set for it.

I have extra stack-up tray set & two pieces (blue and yellow IIRC), so if someone has the 3 missing pieces and set of gray claws I can take them of your hands so I would have full back up set.

If you decide to unload those instead of going for a backup set, let me know as I would be interested.

good info, Thanks Ozzy_98. By the way, I notice that you also like Haunted House game. Haunted House is one of my favs. Good memories.
Ozzy was my High School nickname - I am a fan of Ozzy Osbourne and we share the same given name. I like Let Me Hear You Scream lately and I usually listen to it while scanning  ;D

Maybe the seller is not an english speaker :p. I remember when i began to learn english for the speaking test i memorized many of the word using spanish, off course this is a fast way to pass the test but many people will not use again (in Spain the vast majority) so if someone listening biohazard probably will write baiojasard :P.

A good example of that:
