How well does a UGC stack up next to a stock SEGA one?

Madducky:
I looking in this thread thinking that I would find what I needed:
http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=3294.0

But all of the picture links are dead.

My question is are the cases the same measurements as a standard Genesis/ Master System case? If not, how close are they and will they look good spine to spine?

Thanks!!
Madducky:
And where can I buy the UGC from?
Dravenae:
UGCs are bigger than Genesis/Mega Drive cases. There is a noticeable difference in size in terms of height. The spine on UGCs are larger as well. I separated my CIB Mega Drive games and created my own custom covers for the loose carts I have. If you want to go retail and get the case sizes uniform, I recommend doing the same (separate the CIB games with the loose carts boxed in UGC). Alternatively, you could just look around for a seller selling Genesis's cases or pick up a bundle of sports games, take the cases then sell of the sports games and their manuals.

I just took a real quick picture of my Sega cases.

Star Control and everything to the left is a UGC.  Starflight, Desert Strike, and Decapattack are normal Sega cases.

Taller is the most noticeable difference.
Madducky:
Thank you!!
That is exactly what I needed to know.
I just wish that the dimensions were closer, darn it.

Nobody makes replica SEGA cases?

I'll start scooping up the sports games again. That's what I did while completing my PS1/PS2 collection

You rock!
