Question about flights inside USA

I open this thread because probably in summer i'll pass my holidays in USA (Probably New York). I want to know the name of the low cost companies that operates inside USA (3 weeks in the same place can be boring), and if they are very strict with luggage or clothes to use the jacket that i use with ryanair in europe:

I'll try to escape of New York city (if i go to New York it's due girlfriend desires -_-, because many of her friends weere last year so it's cool )

Put all electronic toys you want in a small carry-on bag, it won't be bad then. They run it through the scanner.

Only issue I've really had flying with security, is the "have to be there 30 mins before takeoff" bs.  The shuttle from the rental place was late, I showed up and signed in at 6:30, for my 7:00 flight.  It said I could not make it because I was not 30 mins ahead of time (Guess they go by seconds), and was rerouted to a latter flight.  I ended up having to sit 30 mins, to see my flight take off, then kill another 2 hours for my new flight.  I did however save an hour layover, so wasn't all that bad.

good to know that, in Europe normally the low cost companies only let you carry 1 hand luggage (you can't carry on a suitcase and a small bag)

yeah, put them in a hand luggage bag.  you are likely to get tazerred wandering around a US airport with that much electronics strapped to yourself in that jacket. lol

New York is expensive for most shopping, but there's so much more to it than shops.  Don't waste the opportunity by wanting to get out of town as soon as you get there.  It really is an amazing place.  Just do your shopping on-line, and enjoy NYC for what it is.  If you are there for 3 weeks, you can probably get stuff online delivered to your hotel and take it back with you.  3 weeks is a long time in one place - but it will give you the opportunity to see/do alot without rushing around.  If you must get out of the city - think about taking a train up to Boston or somewhere, rather than flying. (takes about 4 hours, but no waiting around in airports)

But i'm also interested in the domestic flights for go to further locations if we had the possibility (Example: Las Vegas)

Southwest Airlines and Jet blue give you good deals to fly within the US. Also there aren't many second hand stores in Manhattan best go to Brooklyn for that and not many for video games. Only thing left for games is Gamestop and CEX and they mainly carry current gen.

Like sheep2001 says NY has a ton of attractions. Stay away from time square lol. There is an entire strip of museums and good restaurants close by to Central Park away from that madness tourist trap that is 42nd street. Battery Park also is a good area (expensive) but from there you can see the statue of liberty (the trip to liberty island is overrated believe me when I say this) and there is great food in the area. Plus China town and litle Italy steps away from each other with the first ever pizza shop in the US right there. You can even take a bu to Boston from there as well for cheappppp.

I didn't have any problems with my luggage. I read the rules on the Airline web site. US Airlines typically allow two carry on bags (a briefcase and small luggage or a handbag and small luggage) plus one cargo item. I bring games with me in my carry on and I have never had a problem.

I ask because I am seeking an English CIB of SNES Whirlo. I only ever see Italian or Spanish and those markets are WAY too high in price.
I have read somewhere that an English version is supposed to be in existence. My Fiancee and I have seen a cartridge photo that appears to be UKV. Anyway, I am wondering where you live incase you may be able to locate an English  Whirlo CIB for a good price.

Spain, yeah we have a high prices in retro, typical from here "if the retro it's fashio = shut up and rise the price of all the oldies games!" you can see tetris at second hand stores or ebay for 10€  (without box or plastic protector.. only cartridge, on ebay the typical it's a 0,99€ price and 20€ of shipping -_-). Thanks to god that sega always use 1 game for all europe countries until dreamcast (normally i get all my stuff from UK or Germany) and i live far away of the big cities of spain (madrid, barcelona, bilbao, etc) so sometimes you can find decent prices.
About the whirlo few years ago i get one in Lugo for 5€ (only cartridge) and panzer dragoon saga for 15€ in the same store

Regarding the Whirlo cartridge from Lugo: Good find! I've noticed that Spanish and Italian prices are extremely high. I have a Spanish Beauty and the Beast cartridge and I searched ebay for the cart to discover that it sells as high as 70 euro   for a Disney game? yikes! I thought about selling it on ebay for 15euro but not sure if anyone would buy it. I am happy that you can get games cheaper from other Nations.

the best way of get good prices in Spain it's go to cities with old people, now on that Lugo second hand store the owner it's the nephew wich means that before give the price check first in ebay -_- (ebay = god word for them)

That being said:  Flights in the US are still really expensive.

My mother worked graduate admissions at the local university, which involved a LOT of international students, and she always told me that it's pretty common for a lot of people from Europe or SE Asia just to not really comprehend the sheer magnitude of the US.  Like, you get it intellectually, but you don't really GET it.  NYC to Vegas is like Lisbon to Kiev.  You basically waste an entire day in travel, even without major layovers.

If you're going to be coming to NYC and looking for other places to go (not that I necessarily recommend it -- NYC is an amazing town with TONS of things to discover, both tourist-y and under the radar), your best bets would be Boston, DC, Toronto, Philadelphia... all pretty close by.

I know the extension of USA, but maybe it's the only opportunity in my life to do that (who knows) so waste 7h on each flight is no problem for me. Last year visited Japan and in Tokyo stayed only 3 days (wasting 4 hours of shinkansen ) to expend 20 days in Kyoto, Kanazawa, Hokkaido and more places . The most determinant factor will be flight cost

Perhaps the students were fans of "friends" where they pick the flight tickets the same day and join the plane XD. Anyways the most important part of the thread was to know how are the low cost companies in USA with hand luggage (In Europe Ryanair is very strict), and i think that i don't want to be tazerred using the jacket xD
