Does anybody else have problems with Photoshop freezing up for minutes at a time in VISTA?

Sometimes I am talking like 5 minutes or so before I regain control - all other open programs run fine - it's just Photoshop.......driving me nuts!!!!!

It's not spyware/viri/another program running with it - tried all sorts of combinations.

I have 2 gigs too.

Guess it's something I have to live with until an update sorts it.  The not responding does last from 30 secs to about 5 minutes though.

Have been reading lots of stuff online about it - and no known cures (lots of suggestions like cutting down on fonts, and running as admin, etc - but no definate answer) - Never had the problem running under XP.

Xp is better than Vista, wish i could donwgrade.

Vista take up something like 700ish mb of ram alone!
meaning you are screwed with only 1 gig of ram, thats whay i upgraded to 2 gigs

so 700 mb of ram taken up and a program as powerful as CS3 both running could cause problems  :(

If you have any sort of option, upgrade to XP or Linux now! On my old PC, I'm running a hack of XP popular on BitTorrent sites called TinyXP that boots in 30 seconds with 128 MB RAM. Way faster than my newer PC. If only I could install TinyXP on my newer machine... *drool*

Well placed DOOM... Vista to XP is an UPGRADE!
If you have nothing to do... Don't do it here!
