So I am a rather impatient person. I hate ordering things online because I want them 10 mins before I buy them. I won a SNES on eBay Friday morning and the dude never shipped it through ebay so I had no idea if the package was out being delivered so today after work I drive up to one of my local retro stores and buy a used SNES Mini for 65 bux because I wanted my SNES NOW! So I get home and whats waiting for me on the counter yep the SNES from eBay. I'm not entirely made because I wanted a mini and an original anyways eventually but now I have 2 snes with 1 game that isn't as much fun as I remembered NBA Jam TE lol..

ANYWAYS back to the main story so after much debating I knew I needed a flash cart for SNES. It's seriously a no brainer, I mean I have 1 SNES cart on hand and lets face it my collection is just starting but I want to play all my childhood classics now but that would cost me a fortune so I bit the bullet and picked up the SD2SNES from Stone Age Gaming located here in the States. It didn't come with a Shell so I ordered Pilot Wings Famicom cart from eBay for 5 bux shipped for the flash kart, from things I Read a FlashFX game shell would be best for the sd2snes so hopefully it fits in there fine..

My question to you fellow fanatics is Did I make the right decision? I know the Everdrive v2 is out and amazing and 1/2 the price but the incompatibility list is much smaller on the sd2snes even tho neither will play Super Mario RPG but I can  get the cart locally for 65 bux maybe cheaper if I Get lucky at another store.. but I dunno i just went off the handle and bought it, now im not saying I have buyers remorse but if someone, or even a few people who DO have it could just comfort me and say it was the right decision i'll be much happier lol

Well I don't think you will get buyer's remorse from buying the superior of the two flashcarts. The SD-2-SNES is hands down a better flashcart but obviously the price goes with it. The load times are infinitely better with the SD-2-SNES.

There are always going to be incompatibilities with the carts but at least you bought the cart that CAN be upgraded for more compatibility. Lets see what they decide to upgrade and what their limitations are but that's another conversation  ;)

How skilled are you with a dremel? I ask because you will need to cut the cart to accommodate the SD slot, LED light indicators and USB plug in. I personally have the EverDrive V2 so I didn't have to cut very much out of my cart. I don't have any buyers remorse with my purchase but i do think eventually I will likely buy a SD-2-SNES cart as well. My decision to go with the EverDrive was based on my desire to purchase the EverDrive for NES at the same time and only had some much money to go around  :)

I bought the sd2snes last month and I love it. I used an old shell from a sports game cart and it works u just need to make a few adjustments. U can use a dremel but I just used a metal file to file the holes. Took about 20 minutes for me to make but it works pretty damn well. I did mess up in a couple areas though so I will eventually cut another cart. But as far as the sd2snes goes, I love it more than any of other my flash carts.

You absolutely made the right choice. I also bought an sd2snes and I have not regretted my purchase at all. I think its best to buy these so you can test out games that you may want to buy in the future before dropping money on it, cause we all know nowadays snes games are not getting cheaper.

Like the others have said, there's no contest between the Super ED and the SD2SNES.  I have all of Krikzz's Everdrives, but I went with the SD2SNES too.  Especially now that Ikari seems to be working on it again (silly "life" getting in the way of our firmware updates!!)

With luck, we'll eventually get SA1 support.  Even if we don't though, you bought a cart that can play the majority of the games in the entire library for less than the cost of 1 of the expensive carts it can play.

Mm true.  I have most of the retail games I would want with FX so it's lower in my brain, but there ARE some good hacks.  Fortunately for you though, Super FX is listed as "Being worked on" (though temporarily shelved), whereas SA1 is "Undecided"... but I think he'll do them both eventually.

I did buy the cart to test out games that I might wanna buy in the future, as for classics I played as a kid i'll get those eventually. It's already been shipped from Ohio so hopefully it doesn't take to long to get to Mass =)

I am pretty good with a Dremel so when I Get the Pilotwings cart i'll take it apart and make any adjustments i need. I just wish it was here already I  wanna play some SNES Games hahah

Everdrive we have, SD2SNES does not ring bell.
But as there aren't official version (right?) making custom is no problem.
Please link to the vertical so I can get inspiration or rip the stuff from it.
