How bad do I want to play GTA4 when it comes out next week?

Yesterday I purchased a PS3 for that sole purpose.

So now I have 10 different game systems

(In chronological order)

TurboDuo
JVC X'eye (Genesis/segacd) + 32x
3DO
Saturn
Dreamcast
PS2
GameCube
Xbox
Wii
PS3

P.S. My nick on Playstation Network is Dynamite_7 in case anyone is interested.

I got the PS3 thru work. I get a combo deal discount.

PS3 + extra controller + 2 year warranty for $439.99

The Xbox360 they offer was only the arcade version, and I didn't want to spend another 60+ on a HD.

I would have rather gotten a 360.. trust me! But it was a really god deal!

P.S.

To be more exact.. I have 4 Dreamcasts and 2 SegaCD/Genesis combos + the X'eye (so 3 SegaCD/Genesis) =)

So, are you gonna blow the $100 on the collectors edition of GTA? I am... I HATE Rockstar Games, but I'm a sucker for a good collectors edition. Anywho, the pride of my collection is in my hardware rather than software:

Nintendo:
NES (8), NES Top Loader, Generation NEX [Messiah 3rd party NES Remodel, and the only one (3rd party NES) I'd ever recommend!], SNES (23), SNES Model 2 (3), N64 (42), Imported- chipped N64, Green N64, Gamecube (3), Panasonic Q, Wii, Virtual Boy, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, DS, DS Lite

Sega:
Master System (3), Genesis (20?), Genesis 2 (40?), Genesis 3 (3), 32x (3), CD (5), Dreamcast (6), Saturn, CDX, Dreamcast- Sega Sports Edition, Game Gear

Sony:
Playstation (42), Playstation One (5), Playstation 2 (2), Playstation 2 Slimline (3), Playstation 3 20gb, Playstation 3 60gb, PSP (2)

Microsoft:
Xbox (2), Xbox w\Xecuter 3 chip-front panel-lcd-and Evolution X dashboard, Xbox- Halo Edition, Xbox 360 Standard, Xbox 360 Elite, Xbox 360 Halo 3 Edition

Atari:
2600 (4), 7800, 800XL, 600XL, 5200, 2600 Remodel (2), Jaguar (3), Jaguar CD, Lynx (2)

Others:
Intellivision (2), Colecovision (2), CDI (3- 2 models), 3DO (2- Goldstar and Panasonic), TurboGraphics 16, NeoGeo Pocket Color, Texas Instruments Home Computer... Thingy.

I think that's about it. May have missed one or two.

Yeah, that's 42 N64 consoles... I had a cousin (who I didn't know was my cousin at the time) who had a game store. He got a divorce, and was forced into closing the store. I showed up during the last 2 days of the store closing sale, hung out far to long, found out our relation, and ended up with everything he didn't sell for around $350. Basically. Anyway, I don't really have any use for the bag and box either, and I REALLY should NOT blow the money on it, but, it could be worse, I could be addicted to heroine, or meth instead of games... Right? Anyway, congrats on the PS3. Not a LOT of games for it yet, but Uncharted is fun, and I snagged my copy for $10 on Ebay, and Motorstorm is awesome, and cheap on Ebay. Heard Ratchet and Clank is good, but haven't played it... It'll get it's share of fun! Plus, it sounds like you got a good deal on it! So, is the Xeye like the Sega CDX? I've never seen one, and the only articles I can find don't mention a U.S. release. It sounds like the same thing, only made by JVC rather than Sega, but like I said, never seen it.

And at last count 819 games

The JVC X'eye

Genesis and sega cd all in one.. It also has a microphone jack on the side and CD+G compatibility.. In other words karaoke!!

Game Boy Micros rock. Don't bash them until you try them.

Got to agree with you - the micro's rock, I was blown away by how sharp the screens are on them - got 1 silver one, and a boxed not yet used  NES edition one.

My collection is:
GB Pocket
GB Colour
GBA (3)
GB Micro (2)
NDS
Neo Geo Pocket Colour
Sega Game Gear
Intellivision (2)
CBS Colecovision (2)
Atari 7800
Master System (With card slot and cart)
Master System 2 (Cart only)
Megadrive (MK1)
SNES
Saturn
PS1
PSOne
PS2
N64
Dreamcast
XBox
Gamecube
Wii
XBox 360

Also got my old Commodore Amiga, and a couple ZX Spectrums (2 x rubber key 48k, 1 x 128k, 1 x Spectrum +3 with disk drive)

That list is looking pretty long.......no wonder i keep getting in trouble for having my crap laying around  8)

well, I'm raising some cash to expand my gaming consoles and games, but right now, at this very moment I have:
Xbox 360 (about 7 games)
PS2 (5 games)
Wii (8 games)
Gamecube (4 games)
Gameboy color (3 games)
Gameboy Advance (regular model and SP) (4 games)
Nintendo DS (Both "Phat" and Lite models) (6 games)

yeah, not very much, but try considering I don't get much cash, so this is OK for now.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
I was going the same route you guys are going but then I decided to cut down my collection. I sold my N64, Game Boy Micro, Nintendo DS amd Neo Geo CD. Also sold the PS1 but I kept the games.

Right now I own

NES (7 games)
SNES (34 games)
Mega Drive (21 games)
Dreamcast (27 games)
PS2 (45 PS1 games, 40 PS2 games)
Gamecube (29 games)
Xbox (21 games)
Xbox 360 (21 games)
Wii (6 games)

I wanted to buy a PS3 but then I bought a stand alone Blu-ray player and apart from Uncharted the PS3 has nothing that I'm interested in.
