Hmm... I've been debating getting Bitboxes but if UGC NES is on the horizon, I may have to hold off.

That being said, how has no one made this request in 6 pages...

SEGA CD/SATURN LONGBOXES

My KINGDOM for a longbox replacement!  That's another one that you could easily just cast a mold for and replace, and they look *SO* *SO* NICE

Don't get me wrong -- I will buy 50-100 of damn near any box you make, because I'm all over the place on collecting and the casing bug has bit me but hard, but while there are other people talking about making replacement cases for lots of these systems, I have yet to hear of anyone looking to make a longbox replacement

Probably because we should move one step at a time! Looks like replacement Sega Genesis cases may finally be produced. Something like Sega CD/Saturn cases could be a good next step. The Sega community/collectors have been completely deprived for a source of both Genesis and CD/Saturn replacement cases, and it is about time someone took care of it. Plus once we see just how well these Genesis cases will do, maybe it will open up everyone's eyes to the potential these things could have.

And much like my opinion of the Genesis replacement cases, they should be copies of the originals. Again, with these having so much more potential to gain serious popularity outside of the cover project, these Sega cases should be altered as little as possible to appeal to everyone, and not just us here at TCP. UGC's and other custom cases, customize away! Sega cases should be left as they are, to start off at least...

Sega Saturn/SEGA CD cases are very desirable but are also likely to be the most expensive and hardest to make as they are made up of three parts. It's unlikely anyone will be able to produce those in an economical fashion. They also break easy in shipping. I wouldn't ask anyone who isn't filthy rich to make those. An extremely high volume would need to be bought and sold to make a profit.

Hence I want Elongaded DVD cases.

Either two sizes where one is Sega CD size and one that holds Saturn size Manuals, Or just one size that holds even the biggest size Sega CD manuals.

Yes, but a DVD style clamshell, Saturn sized would be do-able......

What color are we talking here?  I would love the idea of Saturn/Sega CD style cases, but I'm not interested unless they look like the original clear jewel cases.  Otherwise, I would just stick with DVD cases for those systems.  It's a good point though.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

Honestly unless you need a hundred of these cases I would just go out to your local game store and buy sega saturn sports games and use those cases. The local game stores here have a ton of sports games for sega saturn and they sell for like 2-3 a pop complete. Kind of expensive per case, but if you just need a few that would be the way to go

Genesis cases would sell like hot cakes for several reason as well.

1. I'm sure everyone who collects Genesis games has at least a couple cases that are in rough shape they wouldn't mind replacing.
2. People (like myself) who would prefer to case their loose Genesis carts in original cases instead of UGC's for consistency with the originals.
3. Reproduction sellers would save themselves time and money going through the tedious task of tracking down and using original cases.
4. Genesis cases are pretty much universal to any region meaning they would be sought after worldwide.

This.  I'd also like to add that Genesis carts don't fit into regular UGCs because they're too small for the cart holders, so they just drop through. And if you make the holders closer together then you'll lose compatibility with something like SNES so yeah... Genesis boxes all the way!

Don't even try Sega Saturn/Sega CD cases, it's impossible. Only the most awesome person in the universe could achieve this. Put me down for 100.

2: Make case that would have empty right side that would have groove around the edges where you could slide sort of like plate that would be made for each cart type separate that way you would have perfect fit for each cart.

I like how this sound

Seriously I just want to be able to order a pack of UGC without needing to rig them to fit NES games. Its stupid that it can fit just about every game except for what they are designed for.

Make a case that can fit NES games without needing to cut them or break them and I'll buy a couple 100 easy.

UGCs weren't designed to fit NES games. Thus why you have to modify them.

And that's what shadowfox is trying to make, a case that won't need to be modify

So . . .
Any updates with the GB cases?
Do you have any new prototypes yet?
