There has to be way to create an all-in-one Sega Clamshell size case that can hold ALL or at least 90% of ALL Genesis/ Mega Drive games: regular (US/ JPN/ PAL)/ EA/ Sonic & Knuckles/ Virtua Racing/ Game Genie and even 32X and Master System all in the SAME case. There HAS to be a way. Doesn't UGC allow that all in the same case?

I agree with this, however, the UGC is not the solution because it doesn't hold any of those games snug  (except 32x).  I believe it's possible to make a case that holds all types of Sega cases, but if they are not snug, then it kind of defeats the purpose.

Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I've been thinking the way to hold the cart the best and came up with two ideas:

1: To make case that would hold any cart (except nes as it has to orient different way) would be to put manual clip like hooks to the right side as well which would hook in the circuit opening of the cart.

OR

2: Make case that would have empty right side that would have groove around the edges where you could slide sort of like plate that would be made for each cart type separate that way you would have perfect fit for each cart.

I'm fairly sure Seymor has some info on Genesis stuff that could help with the SEGA cases, as far as cart sizes and manuals go.
And according to his last post on the topic, his cases should be out by fall at the latest.
The biggest thing holding him up is his plastic guy, he has nearly finalized cases and has enough money to pay for them.
Maybe SF ans SO should talk to help move things along faster.

Don't know about the Genesis, but SO has good ideas how to do the UGC replacement cases so they fit all manuals.

So maybe SO does UGC replacements, SF Genesis?

Thats what I was thinking, and 2 people working can get out other cases faster, like Gamegear, Saturn, Virtual Boy ECT.

I think once the GB style cases are in and I see what ACTUALLY happens with them (how many, how quickly) this will dictate what I do next. (It looks like I'm going to be swamped, which would allow me to jump on other moulds quickly) I know SO said this Fall, but if things go like I think they will I should have UGC, NES, Gensis, AND GameGear completed by fall.

I am wanting to do this the right way and FAST. So the sooner I hammer one out the quicker I can move into the next, and frankly, I will probably be working on 2-3 moulds at a time once the GB one is paid off.

The reason for my speed is up until this point I have not created a Business, but even with my sales for the cases/covers is continually growing I know I can't deem this a "hobby" anymore and once these GB cases are here the gig is up and $1000's will be coming in and out and I will HAVE to make it a Business. SO! Might as well hit the ground running, hammer all these babies out so by the end of the year I can sit down to do taxes, have 8-ish case moulds, and deal with Uncle Sam then.  8)

FIRST GB Cases.... then SPEED!

I suggested this to seymore onion.

That way the case without any "caddy" could be used to store any  hardware/odd sized carts/promo material.

One mold for all systems, bringing cost of the case down, and if the caddies are then sold separately, it means you don't have to keep a large stock of multiple cases -  bringing down warehousing costs.

I was getting ready to order another batch of UGC's when this thread popped up, now I've put a moratorium on purchasing more just yet. I'm interested to say the least.

Cost will probably be my deciding factor in whether or not to go with these new cases if/when they show up. I have no intention to replace the cases I already have, but moving forward it would be grand to not have to mod cases for NES carts. Right now standard UGC's cost me about .78 to .87 per unit. If these new cases can land in the $1 range then I don't see why I wouldn't go with them.

Hmm... I've been debating getting Bitboxes but if UGC NES is on the horizon, I may have to hold off.

That being said, how has no one made this request in 6 pages...

SEGA CD/SATURN LONGBOXES

My KINGDOM for a longbox replacement!  That's another one that you could easily just cast a mold for and replace, and they look *SO* *SO* NICE

Don't get me wrong -- I will buy 50-100 of damn near any box you make, because I'm all over the place on collecting and the casing bug has bit me but hard, but while there are other people talking about making replacement cases for lots of these systems, I have yet to hear of anyone looking to make a longbox replacement
Attempting a complete NTSC-U NES set.  Sell me your games!

I too would like these, but instead of originals I would prefer elongated DVD case type boxes.

Would have to be 1:1 copies of the originals to sell well.
