Which would be the whole point of making these in the first place. I cant see anyone going crazy over these because they'll include an EA cart slot. EA games are probably going to be a very small percentage of everyone's Genesis collection, and not exactly the most desired either. What should be the focus in making these cases, is that they are an accurate and quality replacement case to the originals. That's where all the demand is going to be. Everything else should be considered as a possible option if it doesn't compromise anything...

I'd agree.  Plus it's easy enough to find replacement cases for those with all the sports titles nobody wants. As for 32X it would just mean moving the cart tabs out a little. Everything else is the same. Another thing to consider is a case for Sonic & Knuckles. That's slightly more diffcult though. Regardless, the priority should be the normal size Genesis cases. Just let me know if you need any Genesis cases and I can send them your way Shadowfox.

BadChad:

Personally, I could care less if these had an EA slot anyway. It's not even a small factor as to why I would want these and I imagine it should be the same for anyone. Like others are saying, not much would need to be done to accommodate 32X so that makes sense. Plus with 32X games originally packaged in cardboard boxes, that in itself warrants more value for it to be include over EA games and will by no means compromise the over all feel of the original Gensis cases.

As for Sonic & Knuckles, that's another good reason to buy yourself a cheap cased EA sports game. Cut out a few small pieces of plastic for the cart and she'll fit just fine. I did that for one of my copies until I picked up a CIB copy.

My concern is that if you don't include EA or other Sega game sizes, you will have a hard time doing it later because It will be really expensive developing separate cases. Unless you plan to skip them all together.

EA also had different sized manuals. Adding to much stuff will congest the case. This needs to be kept simple and authentic in my opinion.

I agree with segamer on this. To be honest with you, taking EA sports games into account when constructing this case will be a waste of time imho. I mean, cmon, how many of you guys out there want to case up a loose copy of NBA 94'? A complete copy at a local game store is only a couple of bucks and is only slightly more expensive than a loose case. There are, however, other games that are the same dimensions as sports games e.g. Double Dragon and Mutant League Hockey. So I can also understand as to why it might need to be included in the case.

Me for one.  Not because I care about the game, but because if I have a game, I will case it.  I have several EA Genesis games that I acquired as part of large game lots I've purchased over the years.  As a collector, if I get a game, I will keep it and case it even if I don't care about it.  It's also important to me that game cases from the same system are the same size (with spine thickness as the only exception). Currently, my EA Genesis games are in UGCs with the rest of my Genesis games.  Therefore, if EA Genesis games do not fit into the new Sega cases, I won’t buy them because my EA Genesis games will still be in UGCs which will not be the same size as the new Sega cases.

If I'm the ONLY person who thinks the cases should hold all types of Sega games including EA games, then by all means go with the majority opinion.  I just hope that people understand that if EA games are left out of the Sega cases, then they will probably never be made.  I can guarantee you that a case specifically for an EA Genesis game will never be profitable and therefore never be made.  Can we all live with that?  Probably.  But it should at least be considered.
