Heh, 1 day ahead of me.  Just got to my buddy's place where we verified 18mm at the thickest for a Color Dreams cart.

Oh well, now I play the waiting game.  The Sega clamshells are exciting enough, but man the NES version would make me one extremely happy camper.

Any news about this? I have all my n64 and newer shelved. And all my portables when I get the ds cases in. Then it'll go onto nes/snes

They are coming along... China lost not 1 but 2! Sample shipments! 

So I ended up FedExing them a "care-package" with EVERYTHING in it, details, game carts, cases, artwork samples, the works. for the next 8-ish moulds. The very first one is still going to be the Clamshell replicas, but be tuned in for loads of new info on all sorts of new cases in the next 2 weeks.

omg... I love you.  My wallet is going to hate me, but I love you.  My GB collection was next to nothing, but I know the clamshell's gonna be at least a full box of 100 from me and the NES UGC will be twice that.

So the factory received my "care-package" yesterday and they have already giving me the price for the moulds and cases in the 10,000pcs qty.

The SEGA Clamshells mould is the same price as the NES mould... HAHA!

The Width and Heigh of the NEW cases would be exactly the same as the standard UGC the spine, however, would go from 21mm to 27mm. (This is not too, too bigger... but the artwork will have to be altered to be usable.... HELP!)

The price per unit is twice as much on my end for these larger cases and for the GB cases. I'd still be selling them in and around $1.00ea but it will take longer for me to save up and attain the next mould.

If I'm doing my math right, in about 5 weeks I'll receive my next batch, with that batch I break even with all the costs and stuff. I will have half of the funds for the next mould at that time, and that will get them started on the building of the next mould. It took about a month to build the last set, Get proofs, send proofs out to a few guys here on TCP, get feedback. Tweak, alter anything that needs to be altered with. At this time I SHOULD be continuing selling my GB Cases, if so I SHOULD have the other half of the mould money set aside and WHAM! Mould number 2 will be built and the first batch will be about 3 weeks from that point. It's middle of June now... So I'm guessing early September will be when the next cases come out to buy.  (Hopefully sooner)

What will be the difference between gameboy cases mold 1 and 2?

As others have suggested the gba clips a hair tight but it doesnt bother me one bit.

As I understand it, he's talking about exact replicas of sega clamshells (unless he moved the clips a few mm to make 32x games fit better -- regardless, exact replicas from the outside) and exact replicas of the Sega CD/Saturn longboxes (so giddy I seriously cannot contain myself there).  The one where he's saying "NEW cases" could have been a typo for "NES cases" or could be referring to the brand new cases he's designing for NES, SNES, etc.

Sorry about all that confusion! YES to the exact size of the SEGA Clamshell cases.

Spine for the other cases will be 27MM instead of 21MM (Which is dog on close) I actually have a 27MM sample case from the factory that I will try and get some comparison photos of. 21mm vs. 27mm spines. (Sample I have is JUST a DVD cases sample and NOT a game case sample... just clarifying  )
