To me, the boxes Sega switched to are not all that bad. I just take good care of them and if they are damaged i can remaster them if necessary.

To me, they're just as bad as the boxes Nintendo used. I always store them away. I like to print the covers out and put the game in a Genesis clamshell regardless. I think they look better and more uniform besides being resilient.

Well, If you use the Tutorial NintandBox Uses to print out Nintendo Boxes Via Photo Paper. Then It might be more durable

Possibly. But I think storing the games on your shelf in any box is a bad idea in general. You're going to introduce a lot of wear taking the box off the shelf, opening the box, and removing the game every time you want to play. It's just not practical. I store all my boxes in plastic bins for safe keeping because of how much some cardboard seems to be worth these days.
