I recently came across a Magnavox Odyssey 2 for a pretty good deal.  It included over 20 games CIB.  I’m interested in casing these as the boxes are starting to wear and I’m afraid they won’t last long if they are handled.  Odyssey 2 carts cause the UGC to bulge slightly, but I think they will still sit on a shelf nicely.

I did some research on this site and it looks like there was some discussion a while back about adding Odyssey 2 covers to the site.  Obviously that seems to have fallen through.  I’ve found a small number of covers through the search, but not many.  I was wondering if anyone has covers of their own they would be willing to share.  If anyone has any links, I can browse through them.   I will make an actual list of the games I have later tonight when I have some more free time.  I’m willing to scan any of the boxes I have if anyone needs them, although some are pretty beat up.

Thanks.

If anyone has any, I also need them.  I have two covers, ones Monkeyshines and the other ones one I put together with google images artwork in a hurry, I forget what game.  Too bad I have 27 of the games.

I’ll try bumping this once.  If no one replies, I’ll try looking elsewhere.  I understand that the Magnovox Odyssey2 system is pretty obscure and most people here probably don’t have any interest in it.  Your time is probably better spent working on covers that more people are interested in.  However, if anyone has links to these covers, I would appreciate it.

I also got around to making an actual list of the games I have:
•   Alien Invaders-Plus!
•   Alpine Skiing!
•   Armored Encounter!  Sub Chase!
•   Baseball!
•   Bowling!  Basketball!
•   Computer Golf!
•   Cosmic Conflict!
•   Dynasty!
•   Football!
•   Invaders from Hyperspace!
•   KC Munchkin!
•   Keyboard Creations!
•   Las Vegas Blackjack!
•   Math-A-Magic!  Echo!
•   Match-Maker!  Logix!  Buzzword!
•   Monkeyshines!
•   Pachinko!
•   Pocket Billiards!
•   Speedway!  Spin-Out!  Crypto-Logic!
•   Take the Money and Run!
•   UFO!
•   War of Nerves!
•   Pick Axe Pete!
•   Thunderball!
•   K.C.'s Krazy Chase!

If you can provide scans I can have a go for you.  600 dpi, with de screen switched on if possible.

Most artwork available online is of low resolution, so difficult to work with, and I have no idea what the back  of the box looks like.

I have a lot of boxes, but every one is damaged, and my scanner sucks, but I'll see what I can do this weekend when I'm no longer on-call.

I actually have a box for every Odyssey game I own, but unfortunately, some of them are pretty rough.  I'll trying scanning one of them this evening and you can let me know if you can work with it or not, and we can go from there.

OK - i found a not too damaged raw for Las Vegas Blackjack - using that, i knocked out a template, redid the logo's, all texts etc, and came up with this:

Getting front images that look half way decent is going to be a tough job based on how beat up most of the raw material is that's around - but if this format works, I can probably knock out a few more - this cover and the template PSD file are in my box.net for anyone who's interested.

Let me know what you think.................

These look awesome!  I will try to scan some of my boxes today and you can tell me if they can be used or not.  I haven't scanned any boxes yet for this website, so there may be a small learning curve.  I have a somewhat busy day today, but I will try to get at least a few boxes scanned.

Thanks again.

Here's "Alpine Skiing!"  Let me know what I can do different to improve my scans.  I apologize for the quality of the box.  But that's how it was when I bought it.

Tidied up the template a bit with the real computer from the rear of the box - not re-uploaded it yet though - about to head out.

Alpine Skiing

And yes please - any decent scans at all would be great.

Sorry, I didn't get you that scan earlier.  I was busier last night than I thought I would be.

I already printed out the first two covers you made and they look great.  I'm really excited about getting these Odyssey games cased.

I have boxes for every game I'm own, but if any of your boxes or scans are better than mine, it would be appreciated.

Actually, it's three games.  Speedway! is one game.  You just race in a straight line and try not to hit any other cars.
Spint-Out! is the second game where you and a second player race cars around a track from an overhead perspective.
Crypto-Logic! is a third game where one player enters a word and the Odyssey2 scrambles the letters and the second player tries to guess what the word was.

The first two games go together, but the third is pretty random, but that's how they did it back then.
