Lol i knew you guys wouldn't trade anything in to them, but would you buy from them?
It might make gamestop pay more and charge less because the threat of going out of bussiness.

I don't patronize Wal-Fart.

All I have for nearly a 100 miles is a very rundown K-Mart. Wal-Marts seem magical to me xD

lol i guess i just buy my games there because i work there and i get a 10% discount off new video games. That and I work in the electronics department and I push nintendo products as much as I can cause I dont want to see them ever giving up the hardware bussiness. The Nintendo rep there hooks me up with nintendo displays and promo stuff though...

gave me a link between worlds stand up display and a 3ds treasure chest case :D

Yes, I will be very sad. :'( I will come visit them in their final hours and relieve them of some of their games, displays and kiosks so I can remember them always. :)

I won't lie...I would be pretty upset lol.  I've bought many used games from them in the past, many new games and I'll probably still do so.  While they might have a lot of horrible deals and disc only copies...every so often they do have some great prices on games and with a bit of luck and hunting a lot of great deals can be found.

Shopping online is great and all, but sometimes I like getting out of the house and browsing their games hoping to find a cheap interesting game.

I would, while I disagree with some of their policies, it would be one less place to purchase used games. I also like being able to open a game case at Gamestop to make sure everything is in the case that is supposed to be in there like the manual and stuff like that. I do not like purchasing used games that are sealed like how Best Buy and Target does. I have purchased a used game at Target that didn't have everything in it and it was a pain in the ass to exchange for another copy, so that is one of the things I like about shopping at Gamestop.

Do you guys really think this is that big of a deal? Hell Best Buy tried going into the used game market and after 3 years of trying they called it quits. They lost millions  :-\

Best Buy is still in the used game market.  It's just predominantly online and not in every store.  Although all stores still accept trade ins (to my knowledge).  Better prices than Gamestop.

They are currently fading it out in certain stores, not all.  At the moment, from everything I can find, there are no plans to stop it online.  And unless you know something I don't, there are no plans to stop accepting trade ins

And yes, it does vary gamt to game, however if the game is less than a year old, I tend to find better value at Best Buy, also moer sales/specials like buy 2 get one free, etc.  Not that Gamestop doesn't have them, but they seem to be more frequent at BB.

Bioshock Infinite

Best Buy is also offering $40 for Fiorza 5, $36 for Dead Rising 3, $30 for Ryse (Prices an be confirmed on best buy website)...I called my local GS.  They are giving $25 for each.  I'm not knocking Gamestop, but I feel they have gotten a little greedy over the years and some competition will do them good.  I hope Walmart's used market goes well.  When there is healthy competition, the CONSUMER is the one who benefits.

I have mixed feelings about Gamestop. It's kind of a love/hate relationship I guess.

But I don't think that GS is in any danger of going out of business any time soon. The company makes money hand over fist selling used games. Further down the road I think they may find trouble unless they change their business plan though. Right now physical media is still the bread and butter of the game industry, but I think that will unfortunately change over the next decade. As physical games become less common GS will have to shift gears to survive and thrive. I imagine them either slowly dying out, or eventually going back to dealing retro games again.

Either way, I don't think that Walmart's decision to enter the used games business is going to make much of an impact at all. Both Target and Best Buy deal with used games already and it probably hasn't even made a dent in Gamestop's profits.

I'm with you on this one. If they ever went bankrupt they would probably have a sale no video game generation has ever seen. All the games would be dirt cheap and instead of buy 2 get 1 free it would be buy 1 get 2 free!
