It looks very interesting. I'll have to keep my eye on this. It will likely cost a pretty penny though.

I have the retron5 on order, we'll have to see which makes it to market first.  ;)

It looks okay I guess, rather plain though. It only has two upgrades over an original NES; it plays Famicom, and has four controller ports. I doubt that will justify whatever price tag they attach to it. Especially when you consider everything you'll get with a RetroN 5 for $100.
My DS Cover Requests: Anno 1701, A Witch's Tale, A Witch's Wish, Black Sigil, Dynasty Warriors, Flower Sun and Rain, Mage Knight Destiny's Soldier, n+, Time Ace

Man, I really love their MVS consoles, but that thing isn't much to look at, whether milled from billet aluminum or not (looks like plastic to me :-\ )

Hopefully that isn't the final design

Here it says it will not just be four player and made of aluminum, but RGB.

RGB is easy on a SNES, but sorta tricky on an NES as I recall.  I'm pretty doubtful that FDS compatibility will be in there. I think that may have been an oversight putting disk games in that photo, especially since they make ZERO mention of it playing disk games, which is sort of important :P (but I could be wrong...)

That fucker is gonna be EXPENSIVE!

Yeah for the RGB you need that special chip that is getting rare.

French NES has RGB output but that is not real RGB as it is converted from Composite signal inside NES.

To get RGB out of an NES, you need the PPU from a Playchoice 10 cabinet.  You literally need to destroy a Nintendo arcade game to mod an NES for RGB.

Also, RGB on NES with the PC10 PPU has compatibility issues.  Some colors are different or are the wrong hues.  I don't know how they'll make it RGB and 100% compatible without rebuilding the hardware from scratch and charging a ridiculous amount of money.

Actually Wiggy, I addressed that on their Facebook page and was assured by them that it is NOT an oversight!

I find it oddly concerning that they don't have pictures from any other angle than straight down... I want to know what the front is going to look like!

This is no longer true. Viletims RGB mod requires no sacrificial parts.

You would have to be an absolute idiot to buy this nes console. Spending that kind of money on an nes clone is freaking ridiculous. Unless your that rich and that bored with your money I would just stick to buying an nes top loader, the retron 5 when it comes out, or just make a cheap pc emulator and play your nes games through hdmi through that method.

To be honest most people call us retro game players idiots for buying games when you can emulate them. I don't think anyone has the right to call someone an idiot for how they enjoy spending their money. Only time you can complain is when someone spends your money.
