Sega GG Cases (Time to Create)

Terrific and very clever concept to house these games. But I think I am with sheep on this one. I'd rather not sacrifice the thickness of the case just to accommodate lynx games. Game gear is really all I would want and anything else would be a bonus. If you do remove atari lynx out of the equation and maybe compensate for the hu cards with the sleeves then that would be awesome.

Shadowfox:

Honestly, I agree with you all about the combo set-up, I love the idea of making a few dozen types of cases for each of these game carts and have them very well made for there one/two/three intended cart type. (Like the GB/GBC/GBA cart case) I haven't asked for a quote yet on this GG style mould yet, but I'm guessing it will be around $10k-ish for the mould. So I'll have to sell something around 15k-20k pieces to break even.  ;) Again, I don't mind breaking even and then having these available for anyone who wants to attain them, my main concern is how long it will take to move say 20k pieces. (Also, once I have the other case up and running and it's mould paid off I can use it's profits and help payoff this mould)

So, what I have to do it look at all the moulds I want to make, deem what ones will move the fastest, then with those moulds product's profits swing back around and scoop up the lower quantity cases. (Like the Virtual Boy)

Thoughts?

I still feel that the size of a PSP case would be perfect.

(Not quite sure I this is what has been talked about haven't head enough time to read the whole thread yet.

GG manual wont fit in a PSP case.

I am happy with a combo case, just think the choice of games that go in it need a little more thought for it to be successful.  I'm just not sure how many people would use a case of this size for tg16, when they fit fine in a number of other cases.  I think going for carts that there are currently no other decent options for will help shift them.

IMHO, sticking with portables is the way to go. things like neo geo pocket, game.com, lynx, etc.    Even sticking an SD card slot in would work for neo geo x and other emulator handhelds.

I agree with everybody about the unnecessary TG16 and Lynx slots. Game Gear and Wonderswan seem to work perfectly.

I think the size of the box would be perfect at the original GG cart package size. Black or purple or clear in my opinion, with blue last as it was the first "official" color for Game Gear. Though for the little Game Gear artwork there is purple seems to be the dominant color as it was the official color for the latter years.

I'm so stoked about these. I've already pledged for the GB/GBC/GBA cases, but I've been desiring proper GG cases for years. The Game Gear was my first portable, and the first gaming system to my name. I had a hand-me-down NES, but it rarely worked.
The Game Gear was a huge part of my life, and, even though I have only 9 games, I have a strong nostalgic attachment to my Sega handheld.

I've modded DS boxes for the games I have, but unfortunately there's not much artwork out there since the Game Gear obviously wasn't as big as the Game Boy.
Hopefully your cases rectify that!

I'm excited!!!
