Besides, aren't we lacking GG covers?  I made all my own just so I could get them to match style wise.

Yes we are lacking GG covers mainly because we don't have raws or good cases.

TG-16

I still really just want a replacement CD case inlay for TG16 games... I know someone was working on making them over at a TG16 forum but I don't think they ever finished it.  Just something you can snap into a standard CD case, replaces the CD tray part, and hold the HuCard with the clip.

This is also on Seymor's list of things to do but I'm sure its low priority...

Well if it wasn’t for the large manuals I would say go with a DS style case or something smaller. Also the original GG box looks almost the size of a genesis case. Imo, the best bet is to just make a GG, Master System, Genesis case if its possible. In other words a standard size genesis case that fits all three.

1.) Don't really care, preferably either the same height as DS/3DS/your GB cases or standard Genesis cases. Whatever the majority wants, I'll go with.
2.) Hold the game. Don't care about the manuals as I have none, and could easily keep them in a single case of some kind separately if I did.
3.) Black.
4.) Probably 20-30 I think. Having nice cases might encourage me to find more games, and thus get more cases.  ;)

Overall, just something simple and space saving would be nice.

Maybe someone who has GG, TG-16 and Wonderswan carts could throw up some comparison pics for you to see their relative sizes?

1.) What size should the cases be?
2.) What features would you like it to have?
3.) What color (or colors) should the cases come in?
4.) How many would you want to purchase?

1. The exact same size as the Game Gear box. That way we can convert scans VERY easily and if people want to display them next to their retail boxes it won't look too odd. It would basically look like the cardboard box games next to the clamshells for genesis. I can get you exact measurements later on when i finish with a few projects ;)

2. Manual clips. I would prefer clips more like what is seen in DS or DVD cases and NOT what the genesis used. It holds the manual more firmly in place. Cart Slot. I'd like to see the cart slot similar to how the DS's or it may be nice to have a slot that it can slide into (maybe the bottom half of the cart covered by the slot) .

3. Black for sure. If you were to go with alternates i would go with a dark purplish/red (same color as darker purple stripe on the game gear boxes).

4. I have 20 games right now but I have an ever growing collection and haven't really tried to track down titles for my Game Gear collection yet. I'd say somewhere in the 30-50 neighborhood.

I see no point in going down the route of manufacturing a case for a system that doesn't fit it's purpose - ie ds size that won't fit manuals.  I would only be interested if they are a direct replacement for the retail size box.

I only suggested wonderswan to broaden the market appeal for the case -  the retail boxes and manuals for swan games are actually much smaller.

So original box size it is!

Yes, I would be doing the the game CLIPS for the Cart as well as the booklet. (Like what I'm doing with the GB style cases)

I DO have an idea about incorporating the TG-16 and Swan cards... but I have to find one of each of these items to see if my idea will work.

How thick is the original GG boxes any know?

So original box size it is!

I'd still prefer thinner than original box to save space.

  • Quote me not.
I would like to see them as the same size and color as Genesis but with a smaller spine.
Keep the purple stripe template.

I would love purple cases!

Sega color is blue... but if these are also for Worder Swan games then purple for those.

Didn't a lot of Game Gear games come in purple packaging? Even some of the labels have the purple spines right? I can dig blue too though!
