Your template is too large. The SNES label measures 82 mm by 43 mm (the height actually varies game to game, but I find the sweet spot at 43) with a 3mm corner radius. So at 300dpi, a SNES label should be 969x508 pixels.

3.25 inches x 6 = 1950x1030. my scanner is programmed to calculate by mathematicians; it converts inches to pixels well. As stated in my post, I like to resize it to desktop dimensions. perhaps you pirate, thus someone making a perfect copy is crucial to your success. Open a graphic editor and customize it. You do have one don't you?

if you do not want my label, then use someone elses. noone is twisting your arm. move along li'l doggy.

Wow. I'm trying to be helpful and you attack me because I'm new here?

I'm giving you the correct dimensions to help you and everyone else out. Your proportions are wrong, and should print out to the correct size, just like everything else does on this site. I too happen to have a scanner, and I too can calculate dimensions using it. You're not special. The dimensions you posted, 1950x1030 are reasonably accurate for 600dpi, but the labels you posted were 1024x540

I've been doing this for a while, and I just only recently got an account on the forums. I know what I'm doing. If people were to pring out a label for an snes cart from you, it'd be oversized by a large amount.

So, instead, I'll post my template:

bad art that is probably a magazine scan or box theft. no thanks. I'll keep mine.
so stop talking to me. Make your own. I am happy with mine.

yikes! take an art class.

I'm completely lost, as to why you're acting like a complete ass. I'm not even sure what I did, other than constructive criticism to set you off.

I thought this was a community that thrives on help other people out, not to insult others because they said the size was wrong. You're completely off base, and your only crutch here is to call me new. Whatever.

Now, you compare my SNES logo. I'll acknowledge that the registered trademark symbol is a tad large, but the only reason why I made it that large, was because I was basing it off of the original label that I scanned (which was a madden 95 label... which is present in the psd). Truthfully, I'll probably get rid of that symbol, as it really doesn't show up well while printed.

Let's see, what else? You took my 300dpi png, and compared it to your 600 dpi image (actually higher, from the looks of it). My source was from a vector file, which I rasterized at a larger resolution and then scaled it down. It's the best quality you can get at 600dpi. Your particular implementation doesn't look much better, and to be honest the letters are overly rounded. But we're nitpicking here, as that's not something that'll show up all that well at print.

I know. I couldn't find a vectored version of the old seal of quality so I used the newer one. I plan to go back and vectorize the old one, but it's a minor thing to me.

--- Quote from: taigr81m on April 27, 2013, 03:39:45 PM ---1. I am not posting labels for you. Infact, do not use any of my work. ignore it.
2. my labels are posted for members. members to use when making labels for themselves. I do not design for print. customization is expected.
3. get lost. stop bothering me.
4. end of discussion. I will continue posting my labels with desktop dimensions.

--- End quote ---

1. I don't want your labels. You posted labels at the wrong resolution and aspect ratio for printing, and I corrected you.
2. Wtf? Then what's the point of making labels? You don't design for printing? That's the whole point! Customization can still be done at the correct print resolution.
3. Not sure why I should get lost. And I didn't bother you. I could also criticize your use of color, but you'll probably get more pissed... no need for that. ;D
4. And you'll continue to post labels at the wrong dimensions. You don't just get to make up dimensions. You don't see people post dvd covers at whatever dimension they feel like... no they conform to a standard at 300dpi, so that if you were to print it, it would print out at the correct size. You say your stuff isn't for printing... and ok you might do it for fun, but you're on a forum full of people who do print.

--- Quote from: taigr81m on April 27, 2013, 06:24:10 PM ---the Registered Trademark sign (not the r) is not the only thing wrong with that image. The entire image is awful but I'm not a member of the forum because I want to criticize people because that would take all day.

You cannot possibly judge my disposition from text. You are delusional. I am not pissed. My label is superior to yours. I do not need approval.

My labels "wrong resolution" is a joke. Your inability to utilize it is the weakness. I've already posted a label for Hebereke's Popoon and it printed nicelely for Sheep but Sheep is not an idiot. Sheep knows how to utilize my label. You basically want a snatch a label and print method of laziness. I'm not going to argue about nothingness. You have no point. I'm not changing my resolution. It prints fine for me. I am not going to write a tutorial. You cannot entice me to reveal why I use labels. I do not pirate. I do not print them. All you will get from me is that I am building a website for each game to archive them for my collection which is none of your business.

I will create my own thread for labels and I advise you to stay out of it. Stop bothering me. Harassment is a crime and I will prosecute. I have already told you to stop bothering me. I have yet to see anything that you've made. I know I wouldn't want to either. Bad art.

I am confident with my work. Use your own or someone elses. I will not adjust my resolution. My labels are not on the site. My labels are not a site standard. You have no argument. yawn.

--- End quote ---

You are seriously delusional dude. Internet tough guy.

You attack me, judge my work... basically calling it crap. Based on nothing.

And prosecute for harassment? Please. No one harassed you, and you're not going to prosecute for anything. Get off your high horse. Go take your meds because you're seriously paranoid and delusional. If you call me responding to your attacks as harassment, then I don't know what to say, but I feel I have the right to defend myself.

You make a bunch of false assumptions about me. You think I'm a pirate. Why? Is everyone that downloads a cover off of thecoverproject pirate now? Is that really what you think? I"m done talking to you. You've shown to this entire forum the ass that you are. You may have more posts than me, and been here longer than me, but in these last few trash posts you made, you've shown that you're a complete ass. And that's putting it politely. Like I said, I have no interest your labels, and I obviously made mistake trying to be helpful.

But, I know, I might as well talk to a brick wall.
