I have a copy of that Lufia guide. I can read and write in both languages (Dutch and German.) My copy is written in German. Maybe I will translate someday and make an English version.

I've actually started a list of snes games that come with posters. It is easier to search for posters on ebay because many people sell posters only. However, you have to be careful and look at the image because sometimes the product is just an ad from a magazine. Look for the folds/creases.

I will post my list here soon so that others can make use of it.

I hold you for that promise of making English Guide and will not scan the box until you have made it.

Probably won't scan the guide as for perfect scans I would have to disasseble the manual to individual pages and as the guide is glued I would not be able to reassemble it.
But if I find second worse copy of the manual I might do it.

LOL well, then, we have to wait a long time because translating is not always easy. I suppose it will be easier for the guide versus song lyrics. I am still trying to translate Charlene (de Lange) Boem, Boem, Boem. Song lyrics are difficult because the notes (syllables) must match. "mijn hartje gaat boem, boem, boem" - there is no diminutive in English for heart. Little heart is not a match, so i translate as "my heart it goes boom boom boom." I suppose heartlet but people would snarl.

anyway, I have a scan of the guide too. I think that posting guides is not a good idea.

I don't remove the staples from all of my manuals and the scans are always very nice. I just count the pages and fold it in half so that weight is distributed evenly on both scan pages. I then flatten the pages and run my fingers up-and-down the creases. I use two small heavy books on both pages, then a large heavy book on top. I align the manual with a ruler. I remove the ruler when the manual is in place, then i scan.

Isn't hearty / heartie the diminutive (or diminutive-like) form of heart?
And heart it sounds like hearty anyway.

I wouldn't bend my manuals like that as that will crease and loosen the manual, thus I prefer to dissamble it.
But that ruler trick I must start to use as it eliminates the cut off from the manual.
Oh why can't scanner scan bit bigger than the scanner bed so it would not cut part from 1 edge of the scan?

LOL. actually heartie is the linguistically correct translation but noone uses such a word (en-US). Hearty means something different, so there is not an equivalent translation. "My heart - it goes Boom Boom Boom" fits notation. Literal translations do not work well. LOL

I think that if we share scans of strategy guides, it may look bad for TCP. Noone here is blatantly out to violate copyrights but big business sees it differently sometimes. We are usually artists or owners of carts/discs without covers. TCP is all about making covers for cases and customizing original art. If I were to post a guide, it may appear that we are trying to distribute copyright material. I'd like to avoid that situation because TCP is not about violating copyrights.

 I've thought about posting guides because some games are difficult to play and guides are out of print. Out of print guides are sometimes WAY over-priced. My argument is this: how can you find it acceptable to resell at prices higher than the cover/retail price and still be in the realm of legality? doh! the guide is still copyright. so it is okay to RESELL the guide but not give it away?  doh! but some people are cuckoo and have nothing better to do with their time than harass innocent people. I'd like to keep it simple and avoid any unwelcome situations. 

besides, i know of a few websites where one could find scans of guides. A Google search should help. I hope that i'm not offending anyone with this conversation. I will leave it at that. No scans of guides from me unless everyone at TCP agrees that it is okay to scan guides and post access to the scanned guide.

But we do not need everyone here to agree.
Only one person here has the ultimate decicion power:

and his minor servants = forum admins

Snowcone lets us use our judgement, so using that:

I think sharing old out of print guides, especially those that came in big boxes, can be shared.
In my opinion those equal to Manuals.

Snowcone and my fellow Cover Admins naturally have the power to over-rule this opinion if they feel I am in error.
If no opposing judgements arise feel free to share the scans of the guide.

I have Eartbound and Super Metroid big box guides and Illusion of Gaia small box (the one that is part of the manual) guides that I shall share once I manage to scan them without damaging them.

I have several guides for snes, ps1 and N64 that i can scan. Sometimes the guides are an excellent source for art. Yoshi's Story guide has awesome artwork that we could use to make custom covers.

I'm still trying to finish scanning my manuals but i will start scanning some guides. I have no desire to resell my guides or keep them for monetary value. I will gladly disassemble and scan. I like to preserve the guides as well as boxes and manuals. I prefer digital copies nowadays (which is why i am out to get scans of every snes game.) I AM an artist - I've won awards for artwork. I still have to get used to a pc and software to be creative. I'm used to a pencil and paper.

anyway, I'll scan some guides and we'll see how it goes.

In order of preference: in English or empty or in German.
Altough I don't speak German I should be able to translate it little by little with dictionary.

Followed by any small and big box guides.

I think that i've mentioned it before but if not, then, my Fiancee is pregnant   We're trying to avoid being over-zealous because complications could damper the celebrations. We will wait until week 20 to officially celebrate   I'm excited.

anyway, I will go through my guides and start scanning. I've wanted Yoshi's Story scanned for years but never got around to scanning. I have the Nintendo guide that has the pop-out in mint condition. I will take it apart and scan it. I'll be buying more guides soon. i have a few guides on my wish list (Forsaken 64, Tonic Trouble N64, Rocket Robot on Wheels N64, Conker's Bad Fur Day N64; I used to own PS1 Twisted Metal 3, 4 and PS2 black guides but i seem to have lost the guides; i'll be buying again.)
