Hi everybody,

I am relatively new the thecoverproject.net and I am hoping to print out a bunch of DS case covers for GB/GBC and GBA games soon but I am unsure what paper to use. I searched the forums for similar topics briefly for paper types that people recommend but most are bought online which I would rather avoid if I can. Do any UK based members have a particular paper type/brand they can recommend from stores here? Thanks! :)

I'm Finnish and I use HP Semiglossy everyday photopaper in A4 SizeUGC covers and that should just fit US DS/3DS case covers as well.

I'm Dutch and use HP A4 professional inkject paper 180 grams, glossy on Canon PIXMA MG7150.
I am very happy with the print outcome for UGC

I'm Dutch, I use regular 180g A4 paper. My parent's printer can't print at 100% scale, so I print it at 99%. Works fine.

Do you have the link for the Amazon listing? I always have a really hard time finding semi gloss legal size, even when using search filters.

I use A4 Glossy Photo Paper. About 25 bucks for 100 sheets but it's well worth it.

Hello,

Sorry if this is a dumb question. But I am currently using Legal size paper for UGC and DVD covers. Will A4 paper work just as well?

Thanks,

Tom

I would love to know as well!

Nope, it will be too short for either UGC or DVD sized covers.

A4 works, I use it.

Set margins to less than 5mm and the print fits.

Oh, sure. If you resize it. ;)

I was just thinking without resizing.

Resize what?  Image doesn't need resizing with a4.

Yep, no resizing, you just need to set the margins to minimum = less than 5mm and the UGC covers print in full, DVD needs even less margins.

I've switched to using a light weight photo paper from red river, full gloss.  100 sheets is about $23, and $32 for legal size. Since they're in the case, and have no bleed through, the thinner paper works fine for me, and easier to cut.

A UGC cover is 11.22 x 7 inches, A4 paper is 11.7 x 8.3 if you do portrait. Standard US paper is 11 x 8.5, so we just can't quite get the width.  DS cases will fit on a US page, but your boarders will give you issues depending on printer.
