A few years ago I bought a bunch of Sega Saturn games on eBay and I bought them all at once. The post office had to bring almost 4 sacks full of my games and I was Christmas for me as well :) And yeah I am glad I was buying games on eBay when the prices were actually practical, unlike it is today where common games are twice the asking rate from 5 years ago --- End quote --- Retro games are starting to really get pricey and that sucks. I just got into collecting last year, wish I would have been into years and years ago when prices were low. Lucky for me I guess is I've kept every game I've ever owned (minus a small handful of crap ones I've traded) so my collection is decent sized and full of stuff I really like. Take something like Contra, a game I never owned but would rent often as a kid. Now I want a copy to own and the asking price is right around $50 for a loose cart...WTF...that game isn't rare and the prices don't make a lick of sense?!? |

Which is about the current trending price. --- End quote --- Ouch.....Its one of the few Saturn games left that I really want, so I might have to just suck it up as well and buy one soon before the price gets insane. --- End quote --- your saying $145 isn't insane? --- End quote --- I was thinking the same thing... ;) --- End quote --- I was thinking $200+ would be insane and in the future it could very well get that high in pricing. But your absolutely right, 145 is insane as well. |

Picked up the Stick of Truth: Grand Wizard Edition today. Overall it feels like a cheap cash in compared to the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles CE. Also grabbed a copy of Legend of Legaia. I loved this game when it came out and it's one of the few RPGs I still needed for the ps1. Unfortunately it has aged teribly in the graphics dept. |

Use to rent it all the time too... but im not paying over $30 to own it. Its not rare and therefore its not worth rare prices. |

I try to find deals when I can and I own some nice items for which I'm proud of the price I paid, but if you aren't willing to suck it up and shell out some bucks for a few of the retro titles you really want you could be searching forever and still never find them. My time isn't worth gold, but after a certain point, it's not worth it to invest tons of hours trying to save a few bucks on some rare game. I love the thrill of the hunt as much as the next guy, but the more games I cross off the list, the harder it is to find what I want. That's why I rarely move on craigslist deals anymore. Ebay is so convenient. I can find my games in the same position I'm in now. If I'm on craigslist it better damn well be a smoking hot deal for me to actually get up, drive, and then go deal with a stranger. People spend thousands of dollars on stupid paintings and bottles of wine they'll never drink and they're smart for buying it because they're getting something they want. Get and do the things you like and make you happy. We're all going to die anyway. It's stupid not to be happy a bit before you're dead. |
