Allow me to introduce myself, YoshiAngemon is the name, creativity is a game of mine. When I first bought the Goonies 1 for the Famicom, I decided to create a box art for it.

http://yoshiangemon.deviantart.com/art/The-Goonies-Custom-Box-Art-Revised-1-437365415 I figured that if I couldn't just wait for someone to make a decent box art of The Goonies 1, I'd do it myself. The details of what I did are in the DeviantArt page.

UPDATE 1: I touched up the Konami Logo from a separate file, and pasted it on the box art. If I had a High Def rendition of the screenshot depicted, I'd be a little bit closer to an ideal box art.

I like the design. Colors and elements just need to be cleaned and tightened up.

Thanks for the opinion. I'll keep that in mind, when I touch it up. I saved the original in BMP format, and apply the changes in JPEG format. I can't promise it to be perfect, but it's worth a shot. Maybe I could use the second Konami Logo in place of the plain text version, or even the Modern Red Logo, to keep up with the times.

Yeah, it's the lossy jpeg compression that I'm seeing. I didn't notice it at first on the top of the spine, but I see it's throughout the image. Hi-Res is definitely the way to go here, so the closer you can get to that, the more praise you'll get.

I think the classic blue color sets it off and keeps it interesting - I wouldn't change it personally. Definitely a marker of the times.

I updated it with a new version. Of course, it won't be new for long. I'm hard at work replicating the screenshot depicted on the back. If I can figure out how to make it look like a TV thing, I could use that screen, and make it work. I also uploaded a US Version of the Popeye Boxart. I think it might look good. I had to use the Donkey Kong and Popeye Boxarts for components.
