The pictures are a bit small so I can't make it out 100% but I'm pretty sure the thing on the front reads "Includes RAM cartridge necessary for play". The info box on the back basically explains that the game needs the 1MB RAM cartridge, and that the KOF95 ROM cartridge will not work.

edit: Oh, and great job on this cover, and the Macross ones. :D

Thanks Jigsaw. So what do we think? Is it better to keep them as they originally were with the RAM info,or alter it as fitting the cart in a DVD case is a tight squeeze ;).Or maybe a UGC version that could house the cart and disc.
Im open to suggestion...

Well, pretty much every game that required the use of a RAM cartridge were released both in a bundle with the cartridge, and a regular CD-only version. It would be really cool with a UGC or similar box to house both the disc, manual and cartridge, but ultimately I really don't think it matters much. If inaccurate information on the box bothers you too much, I'd recommend making a "clean" version for the DVD case, and a "RAM Cartridge included" version for the UGC case - provided it'd even be possible to house both the cart and disc in the same box.

The original games came in cardboard boxes that housed the game in a regular CD case as well as the RAM cartridge. The front  of the cardboard box would generally have some sort of "RAM Cartridge included" notice on them, while the game inside had the same manual as the standalone version, and as such no mention of the included cartridge on the front of the actual game case. The bundle version of the games however came in clear jewel cases with no back inlay, whereas the standalone version (obviously) came in standard Saturn jewel cases.

In that vein I feel it is a little weird to have the cover say that the cartridge is included when it is not actually in the DVD case, but no matter how you go about it, it's not exactly the end of the world....

Well i have the original cardboard box version with the RAM cart so i will probably make a UGC for myself. As for the other versions,i will pull the RAM info from the front and leave them as is.That way, they pretty accurate and wont look out of place on the shelf. Will post the lot when i get home at the weekend. Thanks for the input B.T.W...its much appreciated. ;D

Saturn carts are very close to Mega Drive cats in size, so I would imagine so.

I know VT is pretty busy building his MAME Arcade cabinet, so I figured the Saturn cases would take a hit for a little while, but I should have my raw covers finished this weekend. I have about 12 I need to scan in. But one I don't have  and desperately need is FIFA 98. Cause mine is just sitting around in no case.... So it would be great if someone had the raws to that. But I will have mine up by sunday night. Thanks!

Back in the day Mookyjooky started the "SEGA Saturn Slim DVD Cover Project" on the CAG board.

I don't know if it was ever finished and Mooky himself quit making any new covers. He has made a backup of all his covers, however. So I got a hold of them and will start to post them in the next days. All in all there are 107 high quality covers for slim DVD cases. Some have custom artwork some the retail artwork so it might be useful for all of you guys in creating your own versions.

By the way, Vt, do you have a Saturn template? We don't have one currently, this would be your chance to sneak your name in there ;)
