Dont get me wrong the covers look great and Im not saying that your just throwing these together in 15 minutes. But Id still say an extra 5 minutes on each is all that would be needed to clean up the little bits of dust that are left with a few simple clicks with the spot healer (assuming your using PS). Id imagine that had these gone through tiktektak first, he would of said the same thing.

Not trying to bring your work down or anything. And I know what you mean by the scans not beeing the greatest to work with as Ive thrown a few together myself from the same source. Not the best scanner unfortunetly, or just not the greatest scan settings...

You know.. I've been so married to using my old Fireworks MX that I never notices PS CS2 can make my life easier. I really only used PS to resize.. BUt now I know it can hel me hours in cleaning.. Thanks for the tip

No problem! If you can hands on CS5 then youll really be rocking! Spot healer works wonders! ;)

I see your pumping out these Saturn covers pretty quick. I was looking through some of the covers you just recently uploaded and Im noticing a good ammount of dust that could be cleaned up. I only checked out Ghen War, Dark Legend and Skeleton Warrior but they all had a decent ammount of dust that could be cleaned. Might even wanna run a sharpen filter on them.

Keep the covers comming but I would put a little more effort into removing all the dust from them before you uplaod them. :)

That's after some serious cleaning. Don't think that I'm making 15 minute covers, I've actually started working on these a wile ago.

Unfortunately the source material is not in great shape. I think the first step everyone should take before they scan something is clean the glass.

I'm sure you're talking about my scans and you hit the nail on the head. All the Saturn scans currently in the raws section uploaded by me were the first ones I did for the site (besides a test Genesis game). I not only didn't think to wipe the glass off back then but also didn't lightly wipe off the cover itself (like I try to do now).

This batch of Saturn covers should be night and day better. If you want me to, I'll "box.net" all or any of these you want now (I'm putting the list of the ones I have ready so they won't be duplicate requested for tsolfan to scan).

Battle Stations
Blazing Dragons
Grid Runner
Incredible Hulk The Pantheon Saga
Iron Man X-O Manowar in Heavy Metal
Mystaria
Night Warriors
Primal Rage
Quarterback Attack with Mike Ditka
Road and Track Presents: The Need For Speed
Ten Pin Alley
World Series Baseball II
Worms

I have the "Backs" only for:
Pandemonium
Space Jam

I also have the "Front" for Resurrection Rise 2 (though it has dirt like spots on it). The back I already uploaded and is in the raws.

In my unorganized mess of raw scans on my computer, I can't find the Alien Trilogy scans  :-[, but I will rescan and have them for you tomorrow or Monday.

I'm glad I started doing this with my Saturn collection. :P

Do you think somebody could re-do the Bug! case using the real template? The one that we have right now makes the stripes print out to me some strange grey-orage color. (http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?game_id=864) I think someone just took a raw scan and made it fit DVD dimensions. It would be greatly appreciated!! :)

Hi, I've been around for quite a while using the Saturn covers for my collection, but haven't posted much until now. I put together a custom Panzer Dragoon cover a while ago, and I was wondering if it's up to the site's standards.

I'm new to this, so I'd appreciate any advice or criticism anyone could offer. Thanks!

It's not bad for your first try. It's good enough that some sites in the web would host it, but just below standard for TCP.
Right off hand I can point out a couple of things.

1. Remove the U.S. or the JP logos and info. Go with one or the other not both.
2. When saving in JPG, choose the highest possible quality. I can see some tell-tell pixilation that is usually generated when the JPEG is no saved in high quality (around the dragon's tail).
3.  Try to use a little feathering when erasing background. The area around the dragon's wing and tail are a bit rough.
If you have nothing to do... Don't do it here!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll work on what you mentioned and see if I can't get it a little slicker.
One clarification on what you said about the US/JP logos: The look I was trying to go for was a US-region cover but with the Japanese hand-drawn cover art. Which logos and info were you referring to exactly?
One I see is the blue Japanese text box (ratings info?) in the bottom corner. I wanted to get rid of that originally, but I don't know how to fill the space it leaves. I even found a copy of the original image without any logos, but it was far too low-res. In the end, I couldn't think of any way to cover the hole except putting something like the ESRB rating over it, which would be off from its usual positioning. Do you have any suggestions on how to deal with that?
I could also erase the orange Japanese sub-text under the logo, and I guess it would be nice if the cover logo and the spine logo matched a little better. Was there anything besides that?
Oh, one thing I meant to say earlier was that the spine and back are placeholders, since I just lifted them directly off of the DVD cover that's now on the site. If the back is already what I'm going for, is it all right for me to use it, or should I make my own from the raw scan so I'm not ripping off whoever originally made the cover? UPDATE: I just realized that you are the one who made that cover. So, do you mind if I use the back that you made? And what is the general TCP policy on that?
Well, thanks again for your help. I hope that I'll be able to make some small contribution at some point!

Mighty Hits (E.U/PAL/Retail)

This used to be fantastic to play with a light gun, kind of like Point Blank for Saturn. Not as much fun with a pad sadly.

Well, your first mistake is Photobucket, bad choice as it screws the images. Use Mediafire or Box.net instead, both free.
Second, way too small DPI images, altought that might be due to use of Photobucket.

Re-upload using either of the mentioned upload places, and we can and will tell you how to better your covers, BUT REMEMBER THIS SITE HAS VERY HIGH STANDARTS, so you might not like what you hear.  ;)

But raws for new covers are always welcome.
