the7k: I dont care about covers being totally accurite, just as long as they look good ans the spines all match up. Thanks for the RE cover. If you can just made spines for regular DVD cases for the following games using the covers already on the site, that'd be great:

Doom
Megaman X3
Megaman 8
Metal Slug
Panzer Dragoon
Parodius (PAL)
Radiant Silvergun

The Panzer Dragoon that is up there is not good?

You did a very nice job with the Panzer Dragoon cover, but I think it would be cool to have one based on the Japanese cover as well.  The Moebius artwork is fantastic.

Yet another game that is actually decent as you get farther into the game, from what I've heard. I'll probably never get that far though.

I still have a lot on my plate, both cover wise and concerning the rest of my life, before I get into making covers by request. I'm almost done with the Saturn covers I've got so far, although another 10 will be coming eventually. Also, I still have a lot of PSX games that I should probably make covers for before I head back to school in less than two weeks.

Magic School Lunar!

One of the few Lunar games that remained exclusive to the Saturn. Never got translated, but it's still a nice one to have for Lunar collectors.

the7k, I was the one who made the request so you can leave Panzer be as the cover here is fine with me. Please do the spines for the others when you get a chance. Thanks.

Lunar Silver Star Story Complete
http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/the7k.custom.saturn_lunarcomplete_jp.jpg

That title is a mouth full. Came with some smexy cards of the Lunar girls - nice. All I've got left is Lunar:SSS Standard and Grandia. After that, I need to make a few PSX covers (I just got Rising Zan and Devil Dice in the mail), then maybe I can get started on those requests. It should be easy enough for me to find good art for Mega Man 8 and X3, and probably the same goes for Metal Slug.

Even though the second one is the official MMX3 artwork, there's so much color in it that it's kinda weird to look at. So, I made the alternate one that is actually MMX Maverick Hunters artwork. I haven't seen it put to use yet and it looks a lot snazzier, even if it doesn't have Doppler in it.

Just decided to make this one as a "Why the hell not" sort of thing. Kinda sucks that I don't get the pay off of printing the cover out, what with me not owning this game. Still gotta get on with the rest of my games.

The back looks really bland, but both front covers look really good. Keep up the awesome work with these Saturn covers!

One question though, would it be possible for you to start making covers using a Japanese style cover template as well? I'm guess I'm not in any hurry to put any of my Saturn games in DVD cases, but the purist in me cringes at the sight of Japanese games shoehorned into an American cover template.

I used to use the Japanese style back when I was trying to make covers for the Slim DVD Saturn project. The reason I turned away from it in favor of the American style is that I plan to also amass a Sega CD collection at some point and I'd like the two styles to mesh.

What I used to do while I was still printing covers off in the Japanese Slim style but people started doing American style was copy a large part of the front image (enough so it would scale proper) and do the same with the back image. Only did it with a few, but it usually worked great.

Edit: Oh yeah, I was actually making the cover thinking that MMX3 actually came to America. Turns out it did actually come to Europe though, although I have yet to find a European copy (and I somehow bet it would be enormously expensive).

Those Megaman and Lunar covers look very good the7k. Everything except for the title on the Megaman games.. The edges are sharp and you can see some left over back grown spots from when you cropped and pasted it.

An easy way to prevent the sharp edges is to uses some Feathering when cropping. This will give you a more soft edge that will make the title blend better into the background image.

Remember!  FEATHERING IS YOUR FRIEND... =)

Grandia
http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/the7k.custom.saturn_grandia_jp.jpg

This cover is alright so long as when you print it, you don't look to close at the cover. I really wanted to use this image, but I just couldn't ever get it to look very sharp.

Btw, thanks for the complements; means a lot coming from you guys. I'm not sure I understand the concept of feathering, though. The only time it pops up is when I'm selecting something, and then it selects a small area outside of what was selected. Am I doing this right? What course of action do I undertake from here?

Kinda makes me think that maybe we should start a thread in tutorials about sharing image editing techniques and tips. We have plenty of guides on printing, modding cases, etc but not much about the actual creating of a cover.

Oh yeah, I'll try to fix the MMX3 covers when I can get around to it.

I made a wiki page on clean up tips, but naturally, nobody cared. When I write enough for a full guide I'll definitely make one.
