It's funny, when I was a teenager I always wanted the different colored cart for any game I owned but now that I'm collecting I prefer plain old grey if it was available. I also want black label, don't know why every greatest hits cover has to be so damn ugly.

Recently picked up Aliens Infestation on the DS. Presuming I was buying the European version, I didn't read the description. I'm on Amazon and saw the sellers rating, which was 3 million + ratings with 98% of them being positive, and I clicked purchase. A week or two later a jiffy packet pops through the door; thinking to myself that this was a pretty thin package for a European DS title. Turns out I bought an American copy of the game; now we all know that makes little to no difference, but now I have something other than white on my Nintendo handheld shelf. I am now compelled to buy more American DS games to even out the colour and white.

I keep any cart variations I get in lots\as gifts, but I do not go actively looking for them, with exceptions on Ataris or major changes (Gray vs gold zeldas for example).  For Zelda, I have different releases of the gold carts, so some the vanishing door in level 1 works, some it doesn't.
