| Incorporating QR codes into UGCs or other Cases? |

Hey guys. Today I thought I would share an ideal I had concerning QR codes (Quick Response) and UGCs. The concept is simple. Attach a code somewhere on the UGC so the owner can quickly link his/her smart phone to a website for additional hints or tips about the game. Here is one I made for 1943 on the NES. Note: I didn't make the website just the link and the code which is available here http://qrcode.kaywa.com/dashboard/ What do you think? |

I like it. On top of hints or tips you could also link it to a digital manual (if you don't have a physical one) or a wiki page with info about the game. I think incorporating a QR code into the back of the cover next to the bar code would be cool also. I'm interested to see if anyone takes this any further and implements it. Do you have any pictures of the code actually in a UGC? |

It might work better on an inlay, or as a sticker on the inside of the box. Just worried about crowding too much onto a cover. |

It might also work in place of a barcode, for those who don't mind not having one. It's not a bad idea. Perhaps linking it to their Wikis or dedicated websites. The only issue would be deciding what to link, I think. You have to really limit yourself, unless you go an inlay route. And even then, it should be kept to a minimum. |

Thanks for the feedback guys! I haven't placed the QR on any of my cases yet, however, I would probably place it on the inside of the case on the back of the front cover. I like the digital manual ideal a lot too! The only challenge would be finding or creating the right website that is optimized for QR content. Most manual websites I've found contain links that open up PDF files which are incompatible with QR codes... |
