Is there a NES vertical cover thread or something similar? I'm looking to make my NES covers as uniform as possible similar to the SNES vertical thread. The retails are pretty satisfying as it is but... some of them have coloured spines which throws off everything.

anyone?

Umm... wouldn't every NES cover be a vertical cover?

Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing. Maybe a vertical retail NES thread?

Actually we would only need the uniformed spine that could be pasted on to the current covers.

Then we would only need that every NES cover maker would also plant the spine title on to the universal spine. ( so we would not have to rip the title from posted covers which usually makes bad results).

Maybe something like TCP NES logo at the top, then NES gray spine, red stripe and black bottom.

I'll whip up consept to show what I mean and post it.

Meh. I have about 200 NES games already cased, I'm not about to redo those. The TCP NES logo at the top of the spine is plenty of uniformity for me. It's not like Sega Genesis where every single spine looks completely mismatched.

Actually with a little refinement and more attention to detail that would look really good on a shelf

Yeah but the beauty of these is that you can just print the spines and put them on top of the exsisting covers.

This exactly... the retail is already pretty uniformed and well, vertical. Though ... I feel the spine looks awkward when the title is all over the place with different colours etc... I haven't cased any NES game yet so I thought maybe I could try before dealing with what's offered so far.

Here is an example of what the BitBox covers look like lined up. I have been converting there over for some time now. The spines have been reworked or tweaked in almost all of them to get them lined up and looking nice.  I have also been making sure that the developer logos are the the same size.

Does what I'm doing with the BitBoxes kind of what you had in mind?  All the developer logos are adjusted and the spine logos are resized, adjusted or remade to fit the spine better. I'll be putting these up over the next month onto the site.
