Hi, newbie here.

Anyway, when I first came here, I was surprised to see no Crash Bandicoot covers. I mean, Crash was the unofficial PS1 mascot back in the day, so where the Crash Covers?

Heres the ones I'm looking for:

Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
Crash Bandicoot: Warped
Crash Bash

Theres already a Crash Tag Team Racing DVD cover, but its in the PAL design. I shure I could edit it to a USA looking one, though.

So, in other words, I'd like an NTSC design.

I tried to make a Crash 1 cover...and I think its pretty good...but I bet alot of you here would think its ugly:

Once more, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I think I might be able to help. But it would be on the backburner for at least a little bit. shenske might be able to help too. He has a thread in the DVD covers section for PS1 DVD cases. If you could scan in the crash games that you have at 600dpi, it would be greatly appreciated and it would help your cause. If you have a scanner but don't know how to scan things, check out my guide. Also if you've never heard of "descreen" or "derasterize" I strongly suggest you read the section toward the end about scanning software.

About your CB 1 cover, you made some mistakes that most people don't like. Nothing against you. We all start somewhere. If I were to make the covers, I would plan on a uniform spine for all of the games in the series, or at least the 3 main ones. That is how I would want it, but do you want it like the spine on your custom cover?

I would like them better custom like my spine, but if you want to do it that way go a head.

Unfortunetly, I don't have any Crash PS1 cases because I buy all my PS1 games loose so I can put them in DVD cases...I could just kick my self for that now.

However, heres some places that may be helpful:

Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot site: Has some high quality Crash Bandicoot pictures you can download. Thats where I got all my Crash pics for my cover from.

http://www.naughtydog.com/crash/crash/c1-production.htm

This place has the Crash Bandicoot cases scanned. Some are in good quality, some are so so.

I hope that helps. I'll be eagerly a waiting a reply. Thanks again for the help.

Ok, well I only have CB2,3, CTR, and Bash. No CB1 so that one might not be as good. I'll work on it.

Thanks. I'm shure your Crash Bandicoot 1 cover will be good...at least better than mine.

These covers are going to be really hard to make if I want them to meet this site's quality standards. Haven't made much progress but I'm still trying.

There really isn't any material I found that I can work with. Everything on the naughtydog site is too low resolution. If you want I can make them with that art, but if I do FYI they won't be uploaded to the site since they would not meet the site standards of 300dpi resolution.
Sorry. :(

This will be my last bump before I just forget about keeping my games in cases. Is there really no interest in Crash Bandicoot covers?

I'm interested, but I scoured the Internets high and low and couldn't find any hires art to use. The CD covers scale like ass to DVD size too. :(

The wallpapers are way too low quality just by looking at the file size. It's in the hundreds of kilobytes, while finished 300dpi covers are usually between 3 and 4 megabytes.

I made a mock-up of a front for CB2 with a *raw* scan from my GH copy. It turned out ok, needs the old style rating though.
