I got a text from my wife saying I received a package today which was pretty big.  Me thinks my Shadowfox cases are in.

She asked me what was in it.  I said I wasn’t sure and then I asked her if the boxed weighed about the same as 100 DS cases.  She didn’t know what I was talking about. ;)
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I asked the post office about the shipping when i went to pick them up. They said that because the cases are empty that they do not qualify as media mail. And I only had only 3 cases broken which I assume are from the gouge in the box shown above. I'll post my thoughts on the product a little bit later.

Ouch! That is some serious damage on the box. Almost looks like if a dog chewed it!

Maybe I should have the side of the boxes say "County Book Club" haha! Hmmm.... Thank you for the info! I need to know if more arrive with charges and/or broken pieces!  ;) I only did the media mail trying to save everyone a few bucks, when I place these on the site I will more than likely have to ship them Parcel Post. Do you think the cardboard of the box is sufficient? Or should I look into beefing it up?

Just a word of advice for the future:
If it's not Media Mail, don't use it.

USPS has been cracking down hard on these recently, especially since people've used it for video games. Video games technically don't fall under the Media Mail category. I've been selling on eBay and have had a handful of stuff returned to me because they were inspected and found not to be books, CDs or DVDs. Only those can be shipped with MM.
Oh, and educational software.

Big boxes like your case of 100 make the USPS wonder if there's really any books or CDs or DVDs inside...

I would really look into FedEx when possible.  They are always faster than the post office and 90% of the time much cheaper

Got my cases today from Shadowfox in person. These are great! As I was moving my inserts around, I couldn't easily tell them apart from the official DS cases. Quality is very good (out of the 50 I got only one had a minor issue with a clip that could be easily remedied). Some of them did require a little force to get open the first time, but nothing major. Manual section is great I could easily fit all adverts and precaution manuals into them with the original game manual. Just be careful when putting manuals in, it would be best to lift up the clips before putting the manuals in otherwise it is very easy to rip them. Overall though, highly satisfied with them. No more having to chop up DS cases, and being able to add all the manuals with them gives them that more heavy complete feeling (that sadly is lacking on modern games). Will definitely be buying more from him in the future.

Now when can we see double-wide cases for rumble carts and other wide ones like WarioWare Twisted?

And to chime in with the above, definitely stay away from Media Mail for these. It is listed right on the USPS website that video games (especially just empty cases) are NOT Media. They have been cracking down on it since a lot of people just see it as cheap shipping for anything. Just spend the extra few bucks and send it through Parcel/Priority/Fedex, these aren't that heavy. Also it will be a lot quicker, media mail usually takes a few weeks (and that's without it being stopped, opened, inspected, and held at the post office for the receiver to come by and pay the difference) vs a few days-week max.

I received my cases today as well.  I didn't have any problems with the "media mail" thing.  Unfortunately, one of my cases was also broken.  Maybe that's the post offices way of saying "dont' do that again." ;D

I really haven't looked over them yet, buy my initial impression is very positive.

I agree, I can't do Media Mail for these guys.  :) I have gotten away with it before... but I hate the feeling of one of my packages coming back or getting an angry client who had to pony up.

I WILL look into FedEx, they ARE faster and I hope are cheaper.

So does this mean I may get a bit of a break since I'm a later buyer?  ;) Yay

The only issue i see with fedex is that they charge juicy import fees, where as usps doesn't charge anything.
I guess the choice would depend on the destination.

I'm willing to try the Media Mail with your order TAFK if you want me to, just know that there is a 10% you might owe 10 extra bucks to the Post man.

For international I'm going to stick with USPS. It's a very easy process and cheap. Offers Tracking and no need to worry about Media Mail as there is no such option internationally.
