| Question about the N64 and PS1 |

| Cloud80:
Hey guys, i'm new to the forums, nice to meet you all! I have several games for both the N64 and PS1, now I am interested in collecting. However, I live in Australia. Because of this, several games that interest me were not released in australia(Ogre Battle 64 and Xenogears are just two.) So I was wondering, If I bought american NTSC consoles, would I still be able to play them in Australia? Would the power supply be an issue? Cheers for any help guys! |

If you have modern TV (flatscreen) the TV signal won't be issue. The voltage yes as the N64 power supply is 110 volts, so you either need 230 -> 110 volt transformer or just use the powersuply of your Australian N64. |

Hey there! Your best bet with the PS1 is finding someone to mod it so you can play NTSC games, or buy a pre-modded one on ebay, they were fairly cheap last time I looked. If you bought a US one, you'd need to run it through a step-down transformer. These cost from about $50 up. If you buy a US N64, you can just plug an Australian power supply into it, and it'll work fine. |

For Playstation 1 you need either the 230 -> 110 volt transformer, or buy PS one ( the small model of PS1) and buy Australian power suply for it. |

Cool, I already own a PAL n64, so i literally just have to unplug the power cord and place it in the ntsc console? That was easier then I thought it would be! Will definitely scope around for a modified ps1. Thanks for everyones help! |
