I have around 8 case types ready and waiting to be built out. The million dollar question is: "What case mould will make it's money back quickly to allow me to move onto the next one."
I felt the GB/GBC/GBA was number one on the list.
And I have a vendetta with Protect-O-Tape (UGCs) due to the owners apathy to actually improve on his product. I DO want to make UGC style cases. And I'd be coming out with Clear, Black, SEGA Blue, Metroid/Spider-Man RED. Just to start.
The only 2 items I see that need altering is the inside wriggle room needs 3MM more to fit a manual on the lefthand side and booklet clips as well. My goal is to keep the same dimensions as the UGC. (So no alterations on the cover art is needed.)
As for pricing.... I'd L.O.V.E. to be cheaper than UGCs ....because... I'm just like that. (WINNING!!!) As in, if it breaks even I will do it. (But I'm not sure what the cost per unit will be yet, but once I'm at that point I am looking to do that) At the very least, there will be a sliding scale (like the GB style ones) so maybe they will be "X" amount and the price per unit would go under UGC lowest price. Another reason I want to make these is to drop my bottom line on the game cases I sell on my site. I'm already the cheapest out there, but I'd love to be something like $3.00-$4.00ea and free shipping. LOL
SO! To sum all this up! I need to make the money BACK from the GB style cases ASAP so as to fund the next mould. The next needs to be able to pay for itself quickly as well. (Also an AWESOME thing is that, the sales of the GB cases profit will help pay the second mould off quickly as well)
Once I have the first 2 moulds paid off then I'll be able to start scooping up the other case moulds that I'm not as confident selling 10's of thousands of. Like the GG cases or UGC style NES cases. AND one I personally want to do; GameCube cases.
Sound like a plan?
