*I thought I was replying to my request thread but I guess not. Sorry for making another topic.

Bumping for advice. I have got the hack covers close to where I want them. The problem I am running into is the Super Metroid Logo. I have found logos for the hacks but they are pixelated as seen in the Eris cover. Anyway to fix this or make my own while staying true to the original? I uploaded the Super Metroid cover I did for reference and so you can see how I plan to the make the set. I have also been printing the maps on the back so they show in the UGC.

If you don't mind a custom logo, I've made one a while back.
It should be pretty easy to customize to your needs:

I've been meaning to make a Super Metroid logo for a while now. I'll work on it a bit and see what I come up with.

I found this.

I found that one too - it's what I'm going to use as a base to vector. It'll make recoloring it much easier.

I think he was aiming for a silver main color, with a blue glow from the back. That's what I gathered from his image, anyways.

I was aiming for a silver bottom and an ice blue top with the silver being more prominent. I have no problem with the Super Metroid logo. Its the sub-title which is Eris in this instance. The website I pulled these from have that pixel look, otherwise I'll have to make my own, which I don't feel very confident about..

Lacks a little of the blue I was looking for, but honestly, that looks great.! Is that hard to do (custom color/making the logo) because I would love to learn how to do it for the other hacks!

well, i have created the psd in multiple layers, so you can gradient overlay to any colour combination you want.  Do you use photoshop or another program?

In photoshop its, layer > style > gradient overlay

then you can tweak the blend style to however you want, and change the colour mix.  You can put as many colours in there as you want too.

i have each mord split onto a separate layer (super/metroid/eris)  so i just got the gradient to how i thought you wanted it on one word, and copied the layer style to the other words.

for the 3d part, i have that on a separate layer, and the colour can be changed with layer > style > color overlay.

i've put the psd in my box.net for you to have a play with.

That looks great, Sheep. I was giving this a go in Illustrator, but as I'm still new to that program, it was taking me a while to get it looking right. I fooled around with your PSD a bit in Photoshop and tried to match the original:

PSD here:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/b4568w8cdyl5o3j/Super_Metroid_Logo_1.psd

You can double-click the gradient overlay items in the layers menu and adjust the colors as you wish for use with other covers.

Yeah, I wish I could use illustrator too.  I have tried, it's just not intuitive for me.  I guess given enough playing around  I could get results, I just always get lost.  Tried following YouTube videos, but just don't get it.

Your changes to my psd look great though.

I've been getting use to Photoshop so I will play around with it. One last quest sheep2001. Where did you get the lettering for Eris? Thanks everyone  for all the help!

I cut them from the metroid logo, resized, and reshaped them.
