The scans for MOBILE SUIT VICTORY GUNDAM and Kidou Butoden G-Gundam are not flat enough because scans are blurry. Also,  MOBILE SUIT VICTORY GUNDAM back is been cut off a bit by the scanner.

Any suggestions on how to flatten them more without having to tear the box apart. this is the first time I have had boxes to scan for the site. as for it getting cut off thats an easy fix. Thank ya for taking the time to check them out for me!

Update: right after leaving this initial message I thought to try to flatten them in a huge book so ill see how that turns out if you know a better method please tell! Its a really big book, like 3 inches thick a foot and a half tall, and about a foot long while closed!

First step is flattening thwe box between book under weight (for exsample sit on the book).

Then put the box on the scanner straight, DONOPT CLOSE THE SCANNER LID IT CAN STAY OPEN, put hard cover book on the box (bigger than the box but smaller than the scanner bed so it's not resting on the edges) add some weight.

Take a preview scan, if straight ->crop, put moire removal on and scan.

Ok one last ?, I hooked up my old printer rather then use my room mates and with it I can scan up to 600dpi. Should I do that for a higher quality scan or should I stick with the 300dpi That people generally ask for?

As SFC boxes are way smaller than UGCs I'd say go for 600DPI.
600DPI also leaves wiggle room for artists so as general rule always go with 600DPI.

600 is preferred because of the wiggle room.
Higher than that and the defects in over scanning start to show up.
