PayPal wants me to proof I'm not laundering money

Just recieved message from PayPal (with in PayPal so the demand is genuine) to proof that I am who I say I am and am not laundering money because I've recieved more than 1800 Euros with in a year.

They say it's some new EU regulation.
They want me to send proof of recidency and scan of my ID card.

Thing is that all the money recieved is from myself as instant top-up via trustpay and has mostly been used in ebay.

I politely told them to get their heads out of their arses and check the money trails as they clearly come from myself.
I don't trust themn enough to send that kind of information via e-mail.

ja, PayPal imposes a Receiving limit per year restriction to satisfy the AML laws

Some people write that if you are to upgrade to a business account that the restriction will increase to a larger amount. I do not know if it's true.

I always use pre-paid credit cards instead but they also have legal requirements.

IDK, when I signed up for Paypal last year, I remember having to give them a photo ID and a pay stub in order to use it, and I'm from the US.
Probably some new laws or rules in place.

That sucks, Arseen. Sounds less like a PayPal thing than a legal requirement, not that it makes the process any more fun That said, if you were laundering money, then "paying yourself" so to speak would be the way to do it.

Yeah you're right but I never withdraw the money just spend spend spend.
I rarely buy fron same sellers.

Thank god I signed up with paypal like 8 years ago.

If it comes down to it, couldn't you have more than 1 paypal account?
