I agree with Lord_Britannia.  Especially when it comes to Sin & Punishment and Hagane.  I have both of these imports.  They require no Japanese and are great games.  Sin & Punishment is actually in English with Japanese subtitles.  Hagane is a quality side scroller with great graphics.

If you have any hesitation about importing these games (or Go Go Ackman - I've heard great things), I would tell you to go for it.

Any Dragonball Z games

I wouldn't recommend any SFC DBZ game unless you're a huge DBZ fan.

All Super Butouden games are slow and clunky, Super Gokuden games are more like visual novels (text-heavy) with quiz elements and boring battles, Legend of Super Sayian is a really bad card-based RPG (and looks like it was made for the Famicom).

The only one that is kinda good is Hyper Dimension (and is also the best looking DBZ game on SFC).

I'm not really a fan of DBZ at all (never really got into it) so we're good on that :P

So it looks like the list I have made up so far is Hagane, Megaman X - X3, Super Metroid, and Assault Suits Valken. And Scrambled Valkyrie. Hopefully my SNES will play them since the removed tabs don't have the cleanest cut but it shouldn't hinder the carts any.

Yep the combatibility between JAP and US SNES'es is 100%.

This is very true bro unless you are a huge DBZ fan (guilty) you probably wouldnt get a lot of enjoyment out of the games. The legend of super saiyan is actually a remake of two famicom dbz games #1 and 2 combined and slightly refined. Although I will say hyper dimension is generally a good fighter. But still not really fun for non dbz fans.

UmbraPhasmatis hope you enjoy the SFC world its actually pretty fun finding new games to try out that never hit the states. Also if you ever get hagane make sure you have a stress ball next to you the game is great but really really hard to beat. (if you ever go n64 jpn route try the sin and punishment i mentioned)

There are some really cool, unique JP only titles, but many are really climbing in price. Like $100+ prices :(

Yeah any game in the hundreds is something I'd avoid. Made that mistake when I got Halo 4 Limited Edition. Paid $100 for it on launch day and in October the Game of the Year edition came with everything from it (and more) for $40.

Guess that's current gen for you.

Good point man, I did the same thing and it is irritating to spend $100 for the ultra hyper limited special edition of a game and still not have the full version. IMO, $100 should cover all content, including future content

Yeah, in the next gen, they'll sell all of the game features back to you one map, weapon, item, and feature at a time through digital download. Want a med-pack to heal? That will be $2.99. Need a rocket launcher to defeat end level boss? $4.99. Yuck!

I heard that one of the newer games released from EA has $400 worth of digital content. Shit is ridiculous. I'm going to go play Super Nintendo

Yeah I honestly think that Xbox 360 is as new as I'll go for a while, maybe grab a PS4 when Final Fantasy XV/Kingdom Hearts III comes out since 343i has ruined any reasons I once had to get an Xbox One. Good thing they're doing the smart thing with cross-platform, cross-generational releases though. Shadow of Mordor and Destiny are two games I don't want to pass up.

Also the wonderful community around Xbox Live and PSN lately has made me go almost exclusively PC. Regardless of how much I love consoles, PC from a technical and practical standpoint is the best platform :P

I would argue practicality on that one, but I agree otherwise.

Yeah now that you mention it... PC isn't the most practical.

Yes thank you for saying that sir. I think this generation I am going back to nintendo. I havent been with them since the n64 but I havent really seen a reason to buy another xbox this gen. Since the Wii U has ninja gaiden plus batman plus AC 3 and 4 plus upcoming bayonetta 2 and SSBw. The only reason I would get an xbox one is halo 5 but W-E Ill wait on that title since halo 4 was a disappointment.

Sorry to everyone if I went on a tangent. If I want to play video games I have my SNES and gamecube in my room (all my other consoles are in storage.) But nowadays I saw an Xbox one comercial (spelled wrong) saying "You can watch netflix an hulu on this system".  SO WHAT!!!!  I have those on the ROKU box i have had for 3 years plus on my laptop also. BUT when I walk in my room and say to myself I wanna play a game and nothing else will satisfy that need MY SUPER NINTENDO IS THERE lol..

PS    RETRO GAMING TO THE MAX

It's funny that they're advertising such functionality as a feature still. Proof positive that they KNOW the gaming community has been put off by their idiocy and that they are now desperately trying to lure casual and non-gamers to their overpriced box of poo-poo.

Actual gamers just expect that sort of function. EVERY last gen console had it, and there's no reason for the generations after that to as well. It's sorta like "well, duh" for us :P

Everytime I start to soften my stance on the stupid xbone I read a few posts from this thread and am relieved all over again I didn't drop $500 on that boxy, black turd. It sounds extremely glitchy.
