zygmuray:
From what iv heard the Sony Trinitron Models:  kv xxFS100, xxFS120 or xxFV300 (the xx are the size of the tv)

Are good choices and will work with light guns.

Don't quote me on that its just what iv heard from other gamers.

The 50 makes everything look terrible and the 42 is much richer in color and smaller so obviously not as stretched. I have a monster s-video that I'm switching out for SNES, N64 and Gamecube (much cheaper than component) that seems to improve picture quality substantially over RCA. My question is should I stick with the old plasma or try to find a good LCD? As it stands now my sound is running through an AV receiver so everything sounds great I just need to tweak the picture. Thanks

Depends on what you mean by old. If you're talking games from the 80s up to early 2000 or so, then go full RGB and get yourself a SONY PVM, or Preferable a BVM. Know anyone in broadcast or the medical industry?
Jeff:
My brother found a free 32" panasonic CRT beast. I wouldn't put up with anything bigger, it's really hard to move. It has 1 component (interlaced), 2 s-video, 4 composite (with 1 being front access) and 1 composite and audio output. And the nes zapper works with it.

Someone near me is selling these two tvs, would light gun games work on either/both?

Sony KV-XA34M31 34'' CRT

Sony WEGA KV-XJ29M31 29'' CRT

wingzrow:
If they're tube tVs and they have a slight curve to them, then yes. If they're completely flat then you might have some issues.
