best tv for old systems

I have a 50" 1080p Panasonic plasma thats about 6 years old and a 42" Hitachi plasma thats about 8-9 years old. The 50 makes everything look terrible and the 42 is much richer in color and smaller so obviously not as stretched. I have a monster s-video that I'm switching out for SNES, N64 and Gamecube (much cheaper than component) that seems to improve picture quality substantially over RCA. My question is should I stick with the old plasma or try to find a good LCD? As it stands now my sound is running through an AV receiver so everything sounds great I just need to tweak the picture. Thanks

Find a Sony Wega on Craigslist. They are the best TV's for old school games.

Arseen:
You need old tube TV if you ever want to play Zapper, Super Scope, Justifier or any other light pistol game.

Yeah, heavy ass tube TVs are better than HD sets for older systems. Just two days ago I got a TV for $1 at Goodwill that has component and S-Video hookups. Although it does not output in 480p my Gamecube games (only system I tried so far) seem way better than the 480p I was playing on my 32" HD before.

Does rear projection TV works for retro video games, specially the light guns?
