Thanks Akumu - that image is awesome - have modified and re-upped:
http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/sheep2001.custom.ps2_%5Bps2%5Daofanthologycustomntsccopy.jpg

will change the preview at some point this weekends.

@Billy G - no problems - i enjoyed doing these - i might have a go at some of your other requests, but they will be a bit more difficult without any original artwork to go from.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Great covers! The Ingrid cover in particular. Is this "Art of Capcom" book dedicated to Street Fighter and games with Street Fighter characters alone? Or are there other games like Devil May Cry and such? Especially the Devil May Cry games have covers which really don't match the coolness of the games. They all look very generic.

The "Art of Capcom" is mostly fighting games, so Street Fighter, Darkstalkers and Rival Schools are covered. There is one pic of Dante, though, as well as a pic of Jill and Nemesis, Megaman and Rush, Captain Commando and gang, and Samanosuke.

So, not enough to recase all of DMC, but at least one of 'em could look cool!

Also, Udon Comics did a Devil May Cry mini-series, so if you look for those you will be able to get some good images for custom covers. I have one of those issues lying somewhere around here...

Found the image from "Art of Capcom" on their devart page. http://www.deviantart.com/download/54911026/Dante_by_UdonCrew.jpg

Very nice covers, the7k.  Hard to disagree with you in that Capcom Fighting Evolution may not deserve all of the cover respect it just received, but at the same time it's hard to complain when they're all exceptional covers.

I'd be all for a DMC custom set of covers too, since I put in that request a week or two ago if you do plan on doing that.

@the7k

All of the Capcom Fighting Evolution covers you made use PS1 legal information and PS1 icons.  I would advise you to not use any part of the back of PS1 template for PS2 covers.  Just look at some other PS2 games to see what you should put for the back info & icons.

The art you used looks great though  :)

Shenske: Ah, I see the PSone references now. I always miss something.

Mainly went with the PS1 template because the black bar at the bottom formatted well with the image on the back. Plus, I needed some structure.

XanderBoy: I've just been looking for DMC art, and wow. It is hard to find anything. Everytime I think I've found a cool image, it turns out to be Nero, not Dante.

Turns out, it wasn't Udon that did the DMC mini-series, it was Dreamwave. A company that died in 2005. As such, their artwork isn't in a centralized place, which makes it just a lot harder to get a hold of.

Shenske, I change the back of the cover based on the manual insert (http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/the7k.custom.ps2_cfe-insert.jpg) to be like sheep2001's Art of Fighting cover. Is this more acceptable? If this is good, I'll change the rest of the covers too.

btw, sheep... the back of AoF says "Memory Card (8MB) (For PayStation (r) 2)"

yeah, thats better.  still not exactly like what the US retail games use but it'll work.  The style the sheep used is a modification of the PAL style for the icons.

one of these days (when i have some free time) i'll make a PS2 Template so you can see what i mean.

Well, just re-uploaded all of them with the new backs. The old links should still work, I still uploaded them on top of the old ones.

I was looking at the requests thread, and this one caught my eye - Prince of Persia Trilogy NTSC.

I know this had an official PAL release, but not sure about US, so went the custom route.
