I wanted to join this community and participate in their forums. And in less than an hour, my posts (legitimate questions/info) gets bombarded with the most hateful ignorant comments I have ever seen in a while.

Then I do a Google search I find out a lot of people dislike the website.

I feel stupid I posted there thinking I can find a community (lol >_> yeah) and I am disappointed I responded to the trolls, which you never should do :(

Yeah but if you want to laugh ask which is better XBONE or PS4 and see the hilarity when people start explaining with stuff that has nuting to do with the question.

The site is good for faqs and SNES/NES backtexts.

The boards for games (outside of extremely popular ones with divided fanbases like SSB and Pokemon) are, in my experience, good communities. The Pikmin 3 board in particular was very tight-knit in the months (and years) leading up to the game's release.

The system boards, on the other hand...stay away from them (PC). And don't even think about touching the Politics or Religion boards.

I've been there 10 years.  I'm been here about 34 days, and think I have more posts here than I do over there.  And I've seen a lot better posts here than over there too.

Most of us here tend to get along considering we are all trying to a achieve the same goal. (With. the occasional rant or random dumbfuck)

I think it's a nice place to be. This is quite literally one of the only boards I frequent.
What are you looking at? You think baby's don't like video games? THEN YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT BABIES!!

Political and religious topics always ends in fights don't know why  :P

I like being here it's really a community, everyone try to help each other. There has been some discussion in the past but it always ends with everyone being friends and no hard feeling  ;D, i like that

For every one good online community there are at least 20 that are totally shitty.  In my experience, the smaller communities are friendlier. People get to know each other, so the crassness and sarcasm tend to be both minimalized and/or understood for what it is rather than being taken as personal insult.

I enjoy visiting gamefaqs to a point.  A lot of the topics bexome entertaining once people really try to hard to defend their opinion as facts lol but it reaches a point that it just becomes sad and you feel sorry for the people involved.

And I thought about participating once or twice but from what ive seen if your a new user your either a troll, an alternate acct or your opinion hass no merit because of your lack of "rep".  So I just stay away from posting

See the failure of me trying to tell that I prefer freeroam 3D Marios (M64 and SMS) over linear 3D Marios (Galaxies and 3D Land/World), katter which I prefer to call 2.5D even when it's not the proper use of the term, and how possibly to better the 3D experience. ;D

I frequent TCP a few times daily. Everyone here seems to get along just fine for the most part and nobody treats you like an idiot for asking a question or voicing an opinion. Unless its found to be disrespectful to another member or something along those lines.

I don't see a reason for me to look for another site to interact with other people on the topic of Video Games.

there's no reason for someone to insult a person just because he has an opinion or a different way of see/like something
