what game should not have been made?

There was an interesting article over at kotaku today, and it asked a simple question.  if there was one game that you could "unmake", what would it be? and why? any game, any console. There were about 500 replies to the question, but i dont really care what they have to say.  im interested in what you guys think. 

personally, i dont really know.  off the top of my head, the first game i can think of that i would unmake is fuzion frenzy 2 for xbox 360. god, that is a horrible, horrible, horrible game.  it was voted by game informer as the worst game of 2007. its a horrible party game, with the one of the cheapest A.I.s i've ever encountered.  it also has a host that just repeats the same horrible lines over and over and over. "hows it going player 2?"  "bet that hurt player 3"  "was that a lot of damage player 4?" and a few other phrases are drilled into your head for hours.  i actually had to mute the game it was so bad.  the only reason i even played it was to try to get the full 1000 points for it, so i never have to think about touching it ever again.  plus, when you start to win, the A.I. gangs up on you, to insure that you lose, thus making the hour you just spent playing this horrid game all for naught.

so what do you guys think? what game would you unmake?

    - basically a bad version of GGW for $50 instead of 2/$10

    - not the worst game ever but it should be unmade
    - the first game was so much fun with so much promise and Gold was choppy, less characters and didn't feel the same


there are countless others but i don't feel like listing the obvious Superman 64, ET for 2600, any barbie game, etc.  You know the ones every website and magazine pick on

Also, it gets too much credit, where it hasn't innovated at all, and the storyline has been done countless times before.

Are you insane? KI Gold should be unmade? For real? This game should be REmade for XBL. For me KI Gold and Doom64 are the ONLY reasons to own a N64. Playing KI Gold with two players who know the combos and combo breakers is awesome. I can't believe you said that. Gotta think about deleting you from my XBL friends list (just kidding of course). Phew, I have to calm down



There are probably a few games that should be unmade but the two coming to my mind immediately are Outlander for SNES and Mortal Kombat 4 for PS1. Outlander had a very Mad Max-esque setting but the game itself was just horrible. It had ugly graphics, it was just drivng missions and occasional side scrolling jump n' shoot mission. Both were lacking any substance, you never knew why you're doing what you're doing and it was hard as hell. Not because the AI was that good, but because it was horribly programmed. No wonder Mindscape kicked the bucket

MK4 was just as ugly. I was a huge Mortal Kombat fan back then and I was disapointed beyond hope. It was a time when 3D was the "in"-thing to do no matter what it looked like. Problem was that back then a 3D Mortal Kombat didn't capture the MK feeling. It was just your standard 3D fighting game and compared to Soul Blade or Tekken 2 it looked more than weak. The cutscenes were great but the game was crap. They hould have skipped Mortal Kombat 4 and went straight to MK Gold or better straight to MK Deadly Alliance.

You don't think that the original SNES version was far better?

i don't think that KI:Gold was a horrible game, its just i had so much personal hype after playing the first game that the sequel let me down.
i think that KI:Gold felt like a completely different game compared to the original and they cut characters.

WHY oh WHY did they have to cut Cinder!!!He was byfar my favorite character. Then they cut my 2nd favorite character too, Chief Thunder!!!

... its like cutting Scorpian and Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.

I really think KI Gold is better than the KI on SNES. I agree Cinder was a cool character and he sure would have looked great with N64 graphics. But I think it was a good move to cut either him or Glacius from the roster. From a design standpoint they were carbon copies of one another. Like they came up with Glacius and then say "Hey, I got a great idea, before we come up with something original, let's just copy and paste Glacius' design but make the new character fire-based instead of ice. It worked with that Ken and Ryu dudes, why not here?"
That's just lazy and I would rather see one of them being dropped from the roster instead of going the Mortal Kombat way with 7 (and I think I forgot one or two!) Ninjas who just differ from each other by having different colors, a different fighting stance slightly different special moves.

Cutting Chief Thunder is sad though. He was a bit generic in design but there are not too many Native American fighting game characters.
