I recently picked up a carton of cases and had trouble deciding on a paper type. I had some prints from Staples and they look great, but the letter-sized paper comes up a bit small. I know many people have used legal paper so I tried to find glossy legal size paper and it is next to impossible. My legal size options are multipurpose, copy, laser and color copy digital. I ordered the Hammermill's Color Copy Digital pack. It has a brightness of 100 and its weight is 28lb. I used a gift card to order from Staples online. Was this a good option?

I've only used two types of legal size, plain and matte. The matte is awesome.

It might sound cheap, but I just use the basic legal sized copy paper available at Wal-Mart.  I think the print outs still look great and the gossy covers of the UGC's make the cheaper paper look good.

P.S.  It's good to see that I'm not the only runner on this forum.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

This is what I use.

Before you flip out over the price, realize that 100 13"x19" sheets will yield 200 UGC, and 300 DS covers when trimmed down into two 8.5"x13" or three 6"x13" sheets. That means you're paying .30 per sheet/print for UGCs, or $.20 for DS case games. Not bad at all for some really decent paper.

I bought some of the paper wiggy suggested. It works really good.

I would try it, but my printer isn't big enough to support that stuff.

Cut it in half or thirds across the 19" side, so you have 13" max length, and 8.5 "or 6" wide strips.  A bit too wide for my paper cutter though, and I'm not making long cuts like that by hand.

Barbaric!  At the very least I'd use the table saw, hit the whole stack at once.

... now I wonder what would happen if you ran a stack of paper in a table saw.  Hmmm....

If you have very fine tooth saw, papers are tightly between 2 planks and you saw slowly, it might work.

I use 160g/m2 A4 paper. Printing at a 99% scale, so it fits. For UGC, that is.
DS Cases fit easily, without any scaling.

The heavier paper makes it so the ink won't saturate the paper and make it ugly.

Paper is everything.  Try decent paper once, and you'll never look back.

Most definitely. Anyone using bond/copy paper who insists that it's ok looking has clearly never seen their covers printed on paper that isn't total crap. Save up your pennies and buy something decent, kiddies. It's worth it.

I'm a fan of gloss myself, and apperently my printer is too, prints much better on glossy, especially black areas.  Finding glossy legal is a pain though.  The one I'm trying now is from red river, but it's extreamly thin\light weight.  Not having any bleeding issues though, and it cuts nice, so might start using it more than the matte I've been using.

And with 1,322 games currently logged in game collector, I'll be printing a while
