Most definitely. Anyone using bond/copy paper who insists that it's ok looking has clearly never seen their covers printed on paper that isn't total crap. Save up your pennies and buy something decent, kiddies. It's worth it.

it makes me sad that most of my covers are already printed on copy paper. The color looks alot richer on the matte photo paper and it aint wrinkley either. I'm glad you suggested that one to me.

I use this 8.5 X 14 matte paper. It works really well for the bleeding and is thin enough to fold easily. I've never tried glossy however.

It's more of a per-printer thing. The covers are not really more shiny than matte because of the sleave, but a lot of printers brint better blacks on glossy, and some have less issues with banding.  If I see bands show on on a matte print, I switch to glossy, they're gone for a while.  Or I clean the print heads, it generally goes away.

Matte paper is definitely more demanding of the print head (and ink supply :( )

Well I'm glad you like it.  Do you plan on going back at some point and re-printing?

Ugh, I hear that. I've got about 100 or so games as well that I need to make covers for still and I have like zero free time anymore :(

I've considered going back and reprinting all my covers on good paper with the correct ink, but I don't want to spend the money. I still have less than a hundred NES and SNES games so if I were ever going to do it I guess now would be the time, but it just seems like a waste. What should I do with the old covers of lesser quality? Tossing them seems wasteful.  I'll probably just leave it be and continue on with the same low quality cover look.

Can you upload a snapshot so I could see what they look like on matte paper?

This makes me sad :(

I'd say toss all the old covers now.  That'll light a fire under your arse to get them reprinted in better quality ;)

You can do one of two thinks, reprint all the covers (it's not to late) that you have like wiggy say or leave the one already printed the way they are and start printing the new ones on the new paper and ink

In my opinion, if I were you I would reprint all ;)

Well, it's just a 1st world problem so it's cool. It's not like it affects my health or something. I think you guys are right. I will probably reprint in high quality someday, but first I need to get a good paper cutter and quit using scissors :P

Does anyone know if this an ok option for replacement ink or is it better to pony up the dough for the 1st party ink cartridges? Prefer to spend less on this sort of thing, but only if good quality. Thanks

I've tried non OEM ink and refilled ink. Neither of them worked at all with my HP inkjet.

MY experience with non 1st party ink has been bad. Im not usually one to hate on off brands, but I got so many more prints out of the 1st party ones andI had a refilled cartridge leek the ink out into the inside of printer ruining it ( that was 10 years ago, i really hope issues like that have been corrected.)

Yeah, I'm not going to bother with the offbrand stuff. I'll stick to HP brand from now on. Thanks for info.
