  • ...and that's the bottom line
This might sound a bit strange but I wonder what it is about this game that fascinates people so much.  I love fighting games, they're by far my favourite genre, but there's just nothing about this game that appeals to me. Japan loves this game, everyone in the US seems to be pretty excited about it and the gaming magazines here also give this game extensive coverage although its release is still 3 months away. But I couldn't care less about this game. Is there something wrong with me? :)

The game play looks pretty chaotic. Granted that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is also pretty chaotic with flashing lights and super moves everywhere, MvS still needs some tactic to beat a decent player. Smash brothers looks like pure chaos, especially with four players. Like there's a lot of luck involved to win.

So why are you all so excited about this game? Do you like to play it with your friends/family? Is it because of the many familiar characters? What's your reason to play this game other than you liked Smash Brothers for GC or that you think it'll be just plain fun to play this game.

I think a lot of it has to do with kids 20 years ago standing around in a playground arguing which character from their favorite Nintendo game could win in a fight, and now being able to back it up, using their actual moves from the games they're in, unbalanced as it may be. It's really different than any other fighting game, especially because the characters are so unbalanced, but still true to what they're supposed to be... Plus it's bloomin' fun!

And it's also a good way to relieve stress.

have you played any of the other smash bros. games kaiser?  what i found most fun about the games was playing it with a group of friends.  to me, thats the best part.  i remember playing the first one for n64 for hours over my friends house, with a whole group of us going at it, and then doing the same thing when melee came out for gamecube.  thats the only reason i find the game fun.  as for single player, i could care less.  personally, i doubt that i'll ever own this game, because i probably wont ever buy a wii.  and there is a certain amount of skill involved in being really good at the game, so its not all chaos.
