I'm sorry if this is posted in the incorrect area.
I was wondering if anyone offered printing services here?

There are not many self service laser copy shops around here.
Willing to pay for prints and shipping.

Thanks,

I disagree.  Much cleaner prints from a decent ink jet  than laser.

Laser generally gives a muddier finish,  more color bleed and small text is harder to read.

My last inkjet did poor quality, but i guess the printer was faulty (black color was not even, altough i had new inks installed.)

Nah, laser is for quick printing in offices. A good inkjet will always offer better print quality.

I had some laser prints that came out much darker and brighter looking than inkjet BUT maybe it was because of a difference in the paper quality used. Also, I was using a cheap 3rd party brand of ink for refills on the inkjet until I heard that the cheap ink is bad for quality and the printer so I'll probably switch back to the 1st party stuff. Hopefully, damage isn't already done.

Yup, this.

Why do you think fine art prints are done using inkjet under the guise of "Giclée"? ;)

Quality teeters between the two in my opinion. Yes, when you get to higher end printers the inkjet printers are generally nicer.
Cheap inkjets generally suck but cheap laser printers aren't too bad.

Low Budget: Laser vs. Inkjet -> Laser Wins

High Budget: Laser vs. Inkjet -> Inkjet wins

Still don't agree. Low end laser is absolute crap IMO, and low end inkjet can still a decent job with good paper in my experience. Not to mention the entry price difference.  Low end color laser is a lot pricier than low end inkjet.

What always boggles my mind is people will spend tens of hours making a cover, then print it on cheap stock from a shitty $40 inkjet. Some decent paper and a $150 printer is all you need to print your own stuff and it's hardly breaking the bank.

I'm using a MG6150 at the moment. Nothing too fancy but the results are fantastic.

Couldn't agree more. Its the same logic as someone with a $30,000 car parked outside of a trailer.  People generally want the instant gratifications and cheap printers do that.

I know my printer is inferior so i get everything printed at the printshop.

Well it depends on the brand too. I'm basing most all my judgement on my printshop class in college. We printed a whole bunch of things on all sorts of quality printers and examined them side by side. Some of the inkjets really muddied things up when you get on the lower end of things.

100% agreed. You can get a really decent inkjet printer for a really good price if you hunt around on eBay.  In fact, we bought a 2nd Canon ip4300 for $50 on eBay a few weeks back.  Great printer. Ink is reasonably priced and it's a really durable machine. I've had my other one for about 6 years and it's easily printed 1,000+ pages. Just avoid cheap aftermarket ink, like you should do with ANY inkjet printer.
