I didn't make any judgement about it, and regardless of rights, I just asked why someone would WANT to carry one. I can easily get a shotgun license for hunting purposes, and most houses round here have guns for this purpose, I just wouldn't want to have one, as I don't hunt. I can't conceive of living in a society where regular people on the high street are carrying weapons. I grew up in London, so I'm fully aware of the fact that 'gun crime' is committed by a minority of people who are criminals, who run in criminal circles, and get their guns illegally. If I lived somewhere where I felt I needed to carry a weapon to I would move. I can only assume that there is some kind of bravado and kudos associated with it. I may be wrong but I just don't get it.

Ya, Like I said though. It wasn't directed at you personally. So I'm glad you don't hate me for it lol.
The justice system here, (At least where I live) is horrible. They would rather pull you over because your going 2 MPH over the speed limit instead of bust the people they know are doing things really bad.
It's just an extra form of security no matter where I'm at really. My hometown is pretty safe for the most part. It's when I'm going other places that I don't feel safe. That's the purpose that I carry. And it's not only to help protect me or my loved ones, but others too. The person I may end up protecting some day will be thankful that I was able to carry. That kid's mom I saved will get to enjoy having her around longer than if I wasn't there to help.
That's how I look at it.
Or you could look at it this way. It's like your insurance card or an ID of some sorts. You carry it with you wherever you go whether you need it or not. It's not really that handy when you don't need it. But just in case you do need it, it's really nice to have.

Just picked up Duck Tales Remastered for $7.49 on the eShop. Does anyone happened to have a hard copy on the Wii U or a scan of the box art

That is so far of our reality here in europe. ;D

I wouldn't doubt its more common in the lower mid USA. Southerners love their guns. Not saying nobody else in the US would possibly give/receive ammo/guns or appreciate either of them, but it does seem much MUCH more appreciated down south.

Hell ya! My uncle got a new Ruger .380 and a box of shells for Christmas. I got a .38 special +P for my birthday and some ammo. It's pretty common here in Missouri. Almost everyone I know has or is wanting to get their concealed carry.
--- End quote ---
Why do people WANT to carry concealed weapons? If it's a safety thing, I would much rather relocate than carry a gun.
--- End quote ---
For one, it is my right as an American to carry a gun on me. Ya, I know, that's what every hillbilly Joe says, but it is true.
In all actuality crime doesn't localize itself. People can't afford to relocate as you say you would just because it may be a little bit more dangerous.
I really get tired of people saying that other that decide they want to carry a gun on them shouldn't be able to.
Did you know that 99% of people that carry guns are doing it the legal way? Why would I want to purchase all these permits just to go commit a crime. Honestly you should be thankful for the people who do carry concealed because it actually does help keep the crime rate down.
Why do people want to take away rights? Live and let live man. That's the only way to be.
Don't take it as me harking at you because I'm not. Just trying to be informative.
So lets give this example.
The people start to see videogames as a threat to humanity because of that 1% of people who believe that they are actually in the game. They start robbing, killing, and just start doing things Gran Theft Auto style. All the sudden it becomes a big issue and they want to start banning video games. Is that fair to the other 99% of people? No. So why are we trying to take things away and saying that the 99% of legal gun owners/concealed carriers shouldn't be able to do what they want when they are NOT doing anything wrong?
This also applies to the Gay Rights, Religion, Political Views, etc.
On top of that. Look at our Government right now. It's a big pile of steaming shit. They treat the U.S. citizens like crap. Take away from the people who actually try to have a good life and give it away the the lazy asses who doesn't want to do anything. Don't get me wrong there are people who legitimately need some sort of help. But there are way more people who abuse this kind of help.
The day that American citizens get disarmed is the day that the Government has complete control over everyone and what will stop them when they become a Tyrant? Nothing. Who will stop all the new and more abundant crime when it arises? Not the Police, they barely can take care of what happens now. And definitely not the Government because they don't care in the first place.
Plus it's really fun to go target practicing. ;D
So please inform me why it is such a big deal on why people carry guns on them again?
Sorry for the rant. This just bugs me that someone always thinks I shouldn't have what I want to have when I'm not using it to hurt others.
--- End quote ---
Because there's absolutely no reason to carry a deadly weapon on your person.
You know I love ya, man. But the "need" to carry a firearm is really non-existent for 99% of the people who do. An (ex) close friend of mine has a concealed carry license and about 5 handguns. About 12 months ago he pulled it on his wife in front of his infant son and 2 step children while pinning her against a wall, and then he kidnapped said infant son. He managed to get away with only a misdemeanor charge, so he can still carry a gun in his pocket if he wants (which he does).

I know this was directed at Palmer and not me, but I like you too and I don't understand the moral, if there was one, to your story. If he had pulled a knife on the wife in front of the kids it wouldn't be better or worse. Are you going to ban blades next? Nobody really "needs" a lot of things, but we still have the right to own them.
Please understand I'm not attacking you; I'm just being frank.
