How much did it all set you back, Shenske? Would you mind doing a little review once tested? I'd love to get one for snes and 64 :D

The EverDrive Family ;D

I got everything from StoneAgeGamer (awesome products btw), made the labels and cut the shells myself (the Gen label uses DJshok's design until i come up with something). Doom for SNES did not have to die for this project ... but it did get displaced in a gray shell. I purchased one from ebay with an almost unrecognizable label for this reason.

I also have the TurboEverDrive (not pictured) and will eventually get the EverDrive for GameGear. I haven't decided what visiual style to go with for the SEGA EverDrives so they are in the normal retail look for now. I'm considering going with a blue scheme or all black scheme.

Let me know what you think :)

thats freaking awesome! I too was thinking of getting all of the stoneagegamer drives but am having a hard time trying to justify spending almost a thousand bucks. It just feels so good taking, say for instance, the actual Link to the Past cartridge and booting it up back like when I was a kid.

Looks great, man!

I know why the TG16 ED isn't in the group shot.  There isn't a whole lot of real estate for labels and paint :-\

that is awesome. I was starting to wonder if I was the only game collector who also collects everdrives/flash carts.

Well i made a cover for it a while back for the mini gift card case. As far as the actual device there is not a whole lot you can do to customize something the width of 2 gift cards. I'm trying to figure something out to spice it up but i'm not holding my breath.

Awesome work.
What do you use to print the stickers ?

I get them printed at OfficeMax of 'full sheet label paper.' They used to just sell you one sheet and print on that for $1-$1.25. They were bought out at the end of last year so they no longer offer a one sheet at a time so i had to buy 25 sheets (i have lots of spares now). The 25 label sheets was only $15 though so it actually ends up being cheaper in the long run.

They don't have the same gloss as the original labels but they stick just fine and i haven't had any peeling issues even with labels i have printed over 4 years ago.
PRODUCT #: OM96332

that is awesome. I was starting to wonder if I was the only game collector who also collects everdrives/flash carts.

I've been getting more and more intrigued by repros so i figured the best way to get a true feel to what they'd be like is to play them on the real hardware. I've also been using them as a 'demo unit' for games I've never played. That way i can try it out and if i like it i'll hunt down the cart for it.  ;D

I've added a lot  of games to the want list since grabbing these.

Finally! After 2 days of hard work, my console shelf is completed!

I've been planning on making this shelf for some time now. I knew it would take a few solid days of work so I wanted to get this done while i was on staycation. The last 2 staycations i had I either procrastinated or to was just too lazy to get it done. Enough was enough, i had to get it done and i'm very glad i took the initiative.  ;D

Some of you may know i purchased 3 bookshelves from Borders when they went out of business. They are built to be tilted back against the wall. Each one is 8ft x 3ft. The way my game room is set up i couldn't put them all side by side because of the window. I always had kind of an awkward gap between the two shelves under the window so i thought it would be perfect to put my consoles there. The video cords go to one of 3 system switchers i have. Each row's power cords with go to their own power strip. The cords from the switch box run behind the shelf to the tv.

The shelf is 3 ft high and 5 ft wide, 12" deep at the base and 10" deep at the top. It sits flush with the adjacent shelves.

Just put together everything in the garage.

Fits like a glove!

Consoles on the shelf. I have some cases on the shelves for now until i make the wood dividers.
I'm unsure if i want to have dividers between each system or just split down the middle.

There is a 1 1/2" piece of wood across the back of each shelf to help prevent bowing.

I deserved this ...

As always, let me know what you think!  ;D

Cool man!

If you wanna give it some more protection against bowing (aside from NOT using plywood ;)), you could place a sheet of plywood/MDF/whatever on the back and toss some screws into the shelves through the backing material.  Will help keep the shelves from sagging AND it'll give it a LOT more structural rigidity (will stand better on its own, and not sway side-to-side).

I'm planning on adding a back piece of 1/16" plywood and painting it black. I'm going to use a nail gun or staple gun to secure it.

I just got really excited when i got this far, lol  :)

Better watch out.. If you leave it in front of that window.. Those consoles may discolor!

The discoloration can also happen in the presence of fluorescent lighting.  http://www.vintagecomputing.com/index.php/archives/189

I'm more of a moocher than poster, but I gotta ask. Okay, it's more like beg.

Shenske, I love the covers you've made for the Pokemon game covers for DS cases, but I'm begging you. Could you please redo them using spellcheck and the accent mark above the e? I've got an anal-retentive attention to detail when it comes to my game covers.

I'll throw babies and/or midgets down wells if it could get you to do this for me and other poor gamer geeks everywhere.

Congrats.  As a person who lives in a city that no longer has a football team, and as a person who cares very little for football in the first place, I typically don't care much at all for who wins, but for whatever reason, I was rooting for the Broncos tonight.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."
