"hey, if those crazy British can call a game football and there's hardly any foot/ball contact in it, why cant we call our sport football?"

What?

There might be shoe between the direct contact but still...

sorry, maybe bad wording on my part?

in rugby you mostly run whilst holding the ball, "theres hardly any foot (and) ball contact"

You run in several field sports, take baseball as an example...

I mean, c'mon, a player throwing a football and not using its feet is the main star of the show and the game is not called handball...
but the same thing happens in Rugby, which is also called Rugby Football, (governing body the RFU "Rugby Football Union"),(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saracens_F.C.,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlequin_F.C., also in team names)
so maybe thats how it (gridiron) came to be know as football?
"hey, if those crazy British can call a game football and there's hardly any foot (and) ball contact in it, why cant we call our sport football?"

sorry, quoting myself to try and clear up some confusion...

But in baseball, you run to "bases"

Also posted in June pickups. I will be updating progress in this thread though  :)
======================================================

I have a restoration project ahead of myself.  ;D

None even turn on. A combo of broken hinges, missing buttons, fried batteries, stickers, permanent marker, cracked shells and broken charge slots.  This is just what i can see from the outside, it may very well have more problems that i can't see.  I'm excited to fix em' up!  ;D

Here is a pic of the last one i fixed up. Not sure if i want to go for the same treatment or do something more extravagant.

 :D

Damn, well thats a bit of bad luck.

After spending extensive testing, soldering and cleaning i have determined that all 3 of those DS Lites have fried motherboards.  :'(  I spent a good deal of time switching some fuses too with no luck.  The one remaining DS may be salvageable. Hopefully i can get it up and running.
Once i opened them up some were pretty rough. Soda spilled, mother board cracked,

I got them for free so its not that big of a deal. At least i have lots of parts stocked up.
Surprisingly all of the systems' screens are uncracked and in pretty good condition.

EDIT: Got one working! Had to piece it together from 3 of the systems  ;D
I would switch around pieces with the other shells to get a combo that matches better but i'm taking this one as a victory for right now. I'll more than likely order a new shell anyway.

Yay for this not being a waste of my day!  :D

Decided to make and American version of the old Super Famicom Packaging. Its currently my background image on my cpu.
Its not perfect nor vector but it was a quick fix to do the job. Let me know if anyone is interested and i'll up it to my box.net.

I like it, it would be an even cooler background if it had a bunch of systems (maybe NES through Wii U). I bet this would also make a pretty good inlay for those games that are just too obscure to find good art for.

I really only had the desire to do SNES in that style because the SFC did it. The way the SFC looks in that style is so elegant and didn't want to leave us Americans out. If someone else wants to do the other Nintendo consoles more power to them, i wish them the best of luck.

I have actually been thinking of a way to use the wire framing in some cover for SNES but i haven't decide yet.
If i were to do it i would use it for all the random accessories for the SNES including but not limited to the controller.

If anyone here is interested I am selling my two GameStop exclusive Halo (Halo 4 & Halo Reach) figures. They were only available through the PowerUpRewards program and only 3000 of each were ever made. They are Brand New, never been opened and being sold as a pair, only though ebay.

Normally i would give you guys a crack at it first but i honestly don't really know the true value of the figures. I don't want to give you or myself a bad deal.

My ebay listing says that won't ship outside of the US but I will make an exception for TCP members.  If you do decide to bid on this drop me a PM here and i'll work something out with you to get it shipped outside of the states.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121135107120?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

EDIT: And of coarse the first guy who bids on the figures doesn't live in the US .... why does no one read?
