Kickstarter - Your source for retro games?
Quazimoto:
Speaking of Kickstarter projects... Does anyone know what happened with the HD Retrovision Genesis and SNES cables that were a Kickstarter campaign some time ago. If I remember correctly, I think they said they planned on having the backer's cables in the Spring and available for purchase on their website during the Summer of 2015. I really wanted to back that project, but didn't have the funds to be able to do so at the time. Just curious if anyone's heard any updates as their website hasn't been updated since early May.

I received this response yesterday.
--- Quote ---Hey Everyone --
We have another update for you all to keep you in the loop on what is going on. So here's the latest:
Our contract manufacturer required us to update the circuit board with a few minor changes in order to take advantage of their recommended processes. First, they requested points on the board for the input/output signals that can be directly attached to wires. Secondly, they requested a quick, repeatable method to auto-test these circuit boards before they are put in assembles. This is because the assembly process is irreversible and non-functional boards will become garbage at that point.
To allow for mounting in the auto-tester, we had to add small holes in the corners of the board. Although at first thought these two changes might seem rather simple, we had the restriction of making it all fit within only a 3mm board extension in the horizontal direction. If any of you have looked closely at our pics of the assembled circuit boards, you might have noticed that the board is already packed extremely tightly. It took some time, but middle of last week we managed to fit these extra items onto the board and sent over the design files for review.
Once we receive confirmation that the changes are sufficient, we will proceed with the final negotiations with our manufacturer. When everything is finalized, we will be provided with an estimated lead time which we will pass onto you. In the meantime, we are building the electronics for the auto-tester and we will send photos once it's finished. We are also continually running some final verification tests on the current version of the circuit board to make sure it meets all of our design requirements.
Thanks again for all your patience and the positive comments we've received so far. We know you guys gave us your hard earned money, and it is important to us that we get you a product you think is worth owning. We'll continue to post updates like this as we have interesting things to show. Thanks for joining us on this journey!
Best,
Ste & Nick

I just realized something. I complained about PS4 for a long time, but on the other hand Shenmue 3, The Mighty No 9, and Blood Stayne are all coming to PS4. All classic franchises. I should be greatful?
I always complained about modern graphics. But now I am really loving the looks of Bayonetta 2, Rayman Origins, and Infamous 2nd Son. It was simply a matter of putting my tv on game mode and adjusting some of the white color balance. Now my games look really, really good.
I'm starting to think that gaming is in a good state. It's a little different now and there are many uncertainties. But what I do know is that the direction doesn't seem to be all bad. Because of kickstarter, companies are starting to listen. Plus there is Retro VGS coming out. So maybe I really don't have much to complain about. Can't have everything go perfect.
