RetroFighters had "colors" as the stretch goals. Awesome! What colors? How many variations? Will we have a choice on what colors we want to purchase? August 9, 2017 - Project launched August 11, 2017 - Thank you! [Updates: 1] Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 10 [Retro Fighters Post: 1 + Jab Post: 0 = Total: 1] Yes the kickstarter campaign will be just for the gray controllers but other color options that all the backers vote on will be available after the fulfillment of the all tiers are completed. Otherwise it would be too difficult on our side fulfillment wise to keep track of which colors everyone wants to order etc. Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 10 [Retro Fighters Post: 2 + Jab Post: 0 = Total: 2] We will post something about additional colors soon, I am getting a lot of messages regarding the clear colors, like atomic purple, etc. I am double checking if the clear colors are possible or will add to the cost, so I am double checking into the color options and will post an update soon. Once the campaign ends all backers will take a vote on which other colors they would like to see made. Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 12 [Retro Fighters Post: 3 + Jab Post: 0 = Total: 3] Regarding the additional colors, yes you will be able to vote on the additional colors after the campaign ends. Everyone will get a survey and get to decide which color they would like to see made in the future. The colored controllers will take a little more time to make than the gray shells. So for the kickstarter campaign it is for the gray version and the colored versions will be available later at retail online about 60-90 days after the gray ones arrive. You can either wait for colored ones or order the gray ones now via Kickstarter. Many of you were interested in the translucent colors like the original N64 controllers, so we are looking into it to see if we can get that done. We will update on this soon. Thanks! Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 14 [Retro Fighters Post: 4 + Jab Post: 0 = Total: 4] Hi William, we will be posting an update soon, we are waiting for confirmation on a few things regarding colors, octagonal gate and delivery time. We will let everyone know before the campaign ends the expected delivery time so you guys can still decide whether you'd like to still back and wait, we want to be transparent as possible and let everyone know of the production schedule, we also dont want to rush anything, we want to make everyone happy when you get these controllers in your hands. August 17, 2017 - Testing Video [Updates: 2] Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 18 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 0 = Total: 5] Hi Dazdigo, Yes the final product will have original colors like the original N64 controller, not all black like the prototype. Jab Collaborator on August 19 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 1 = Total: 6] Hello Hugo Lopez, At the end of the campaign we will allow all backers to vote which extra colors you want made. We have received a lot of interest in solid colors to match your original collections, transparent colors, half yellow/ half blue etc. and we are looking into all of these. Metallic colors is an interesting idea too! We will announce more information on colors as soon as we can. Jab Collaborator on August 20 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 2 = Total: 7] @Patrick ruffing Of course! Want to make sure everyone is heard and has their questions answered :) Also, Atomic Purple has come up a lot and we're looking into the feasibility of translucent color options. Jab Collaborator on August 20 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 3 = Total: 8] @EChondo At the end of the campaign we will give the opportunity for backers to vote on the color variant(s). We are fulfilling backer orders with gray. The color variant(s) will be available for purchase, separately, on line and backers will receive a coupon code for a discount. Atomic Purple gets mentioned a lot - we want to offer translucent colors and we're looking into that now. Jab Collaborator on August 21 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 4 = Total: 9] @Keith Melecio We have received a lot of interest in transparent color options and we are looking into it. At the end of the campaign all backers will vote which extra colors you want made. It would make sense to have Jungle Green, Gold or Blue/ Yellow as limited edition color options - nothing has been voted on or decided quite yet though. Lastly, yes, the $30k goal was hit in the first 24 hours!!! We sincerely appreciate everyone's support!!! so yes more limited edition color option(s) will be available. Jab Collaborator on August 21 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 5 = Total: 10] @Keith Melecio Yes, you will be getting a coupon code that you can apply for colored controller. I apologize I didn't answer that earlier. Blue/ Yellow is highly requested so we are definitely looking into getting that on the poll. Thank you for your support :) Jab Collaborator on August 23 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 6 = Total: 11] @Kenneth Charles Myslakowski Thank you for commenting! Each controller purchased will give you a coupon coded for use towards a color variant post campaign. For example if you purchase three controllers you will also receive three coupon codes. Jab Collaborator on August 23 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 7 = Total: 12] @ccateni yes color options will be made. Backers will vote on the color options at the end of the campaign. The port for Rumble allows for one accessory, not two. Thank you! August 24, 2017 - Octagonal Gate [Updates: 3] Jab Collaborator on August 24 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 8 = Total: 13] @Tobias 'Dopefish' Lundmark - the color options you've noted are all very popular suggestions. Backers will be voting on those options soon after the campaign :) Jab Collaborator on August 24 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 9 = Total: 14] Update 3 Colors - the coloring in our update #3 render are not the final colors. The original color scheme is still the plan. Jab Collaborator on August 24 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 10 = Total: 15] @Kenneth Charles Myslakowski - Thank you! Yes, we will send out updates as we have more information on the additional colors. Jab Collaborator on August 25 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 11 = Total: 16] @Tyler Magmann- Thank you! We're excited we were able to make this update. Can't wait to see the color options too :) Jab Collaborator on August 28 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 12 = Total: 17] @Keith Melecio We haven't set up the poll yet, but it will likely be a list of the most requested color options as you've noted. Right now we're working on getting the translucent options and two tone options costed out - we'd like to offer these if possible. Jab Collaborator on August 28 [Retro Fighters Post: 5 + Jab Post: 13 = Total: 18] @D-Boy Thank you for backing! Yes we are testing everything top to bottom. The thumb stick and Dpad are of course receiving their due attention. As far as the colors everything is on the table so long as they costing out where they need to. Retro Fighters 2-time creator on August 29 [Retro Fighters Post: 6 + Jab Post: 13 = Total: 19] @Daniel Hodson, yes that is correct, however the colors will be available after the initial gray ones are delivered to all backers. It will take a little more time for the colored options, but backers will be able to vote on the next color options at the end of the campaign. Jab Collaborator on August 30 [Retro Fighters Post: 6 + Jab Post: 14 = Total: 20] @Thomas Thank you for the support! The promo code will be one to one with your order quantity. For example if you purchase three controllers your promo code will be for three controllers. The color options will be available for purchase online after the campaign and are not a limited time item. The backers will get to vote on the colors after the campaign. Thank you! September 6, 2017 - Colors [Updates: 4] --- Quote ---We wanted to thank everyone for their support on this project. We wanted to post an update regarding the colors. As we have stated before, everyone will get to vote for their color choices once the campaign ends. We have received request for many colors, everything from gold, black, to dual color (bottom of controller one color, top of controller another color) and also request for transparent colors. Regarding transparent colors, that will take more time as it requires a completely new mould. The other colors can use the existing mold, but for transparent colors will require a completely new mould. We will still list the transparent colors on the list to vote, along with a full list of other colors. The colors will come after the initial gray versions are delivered to all backers, everyone who backs a controller will get a promo code for a future colored version, 1 to 1 (for every controller you back you get 1 promo code for colored version). The regular retail price will be $29.99 (for both gray and colored versions), all backers will get a $10.00 promo code to get the controller at the original backing price. I know everyone is excited for all the color variations, our main focus though it to deliver a quality N64 controller. We want to thank everyone again for your positive comments, feedback and support throughout this campaign. Thank you! --- End quote --- So without ANY WORD on what colors are being offered, I decide to purchase 4. 4 is a great number for the N64, and there will definitely be 4 different colors.... right? 1 for each player??? I post: September 6 Well I backed 4... was waiting for the colors to back, as I would like to get all the colors. Since its completely cryptic on what colors there are going to be, meh Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 6 [Retro Fighters Post: 7 + Jab Post: 14 = Total: 21] @Aaron Tracy, Thank you for your comments, yes the colored controllers will come later after the initial gray ones are delivered, we will post an update later today regarding the colors. Everyone who backs for a controller will receive a promo code for a future colored version when they will be available online. Our main focus is delivering nothing but the best 3rd party N64 controller! Thank you! :) Jab Collaborator on September 6 [Retro Fighters Post: 7 + Jab Post: 15 = Total: 22] @David the colors haven't been decided on only because the voting hasn't taken place just yet. We posted an update on this today to help clarify :) Jab Collaborator on September 7 [Retro Fighters Post: 7 + Jab Post: 16 = Total: 23] @Tobias 'Dopefish' Lundmark pledges for this campaign will be fulfilled in gray. As a way of extending the campaign to the color options we are offering discount codes so they can be purchased at the same price. You will be able to purchase the same quantity in color options at the discounted price. Jab Collaborator on September 7 [Retro Fighters Post: 7 + Jab Post: 17 = Total: 24] That is correct. The gray controllers will be available first and the pledges will be fulfilled with the gray controllers. We wanted to make sure people were able to get the color variants at the same discounted, campaign price, so we are offering discount codes that can be used to purchase these controllers; after the campaign. The color variants will be produced afterward and would ship later than the gray controllers. Jab Collaborator on September 7 [Retro Fighters Post: 7 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 25] @Nightblade all of the original color options, including jungle green, will be on the list :) September 8, 2017 - Successfully raised $166,347 with 5,555 backers September 8, 2017 - Thank you Again! [Updates: 5] Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 12 [Retro Fighters Post: 8 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 26] @Alfonso Chacon Great choices! A lot voted for the solid Gold and transparent colors as well, thank you! Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 12 [Retro Fighters Post: 9 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 27] @Andrew Standen We are trying to get close to the original colors as we can, you can look online at the original N64 controller colors to get an idea. Thank you! Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 12 [Retro Fighters Post: 10 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 28] @Mike Wilcken Yes the colors will be grey, we are shipping them as soon as we are done with the production process. The survey is to place your vote for future color variations. Thank you! Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 13 [Retro Fighters Post: 11 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 29] @William Ir You can choose the Smoke Color by selecting "Other" on the survey. Thanks! Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 14 [Retro Fighters Post: 12 + Jab Post: 18 = Total: 30] @Nick Gamewell It would be the regular Red Transparent but you can choose other and vote for a different color. Jab Collaborator on September 14 [Retro Fighters Post: 12 + Jab Post: 19 = Total: 31] @Christopher DelCastillo, @Nick the discount code truly is an extension of the campaign price. These discounts are limited to backers only. They will be full price to everyone else. The color variants will be delivered after the gray controllers. The transparent option require new molds and have a different timeline to them. Jab Collaborator on September 16 [Retro Fighters Post: 12 + Jab Post: 20 = Total: 32] @Normand Barnette, @Gary G - Thank you all for your feedback. The color options are definitely coming. They will however ship afterward. This is for a few reasons. The color options require a different mold. Also, these are slotted in after the initial gray ones. We can't for instance add to our initial production run; unfortunately. If we did that the entire run would be delayed. Jab Collaborator on September 17 [Retro Fighters Post: 12 + Jab Post: 21 = Total: 33] @Cliff Church - Color variants will be available with a discount code. Shells are a possibility, but we're focused on the controllers for now. There will be a follow-up USB controller. Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 18 [Retro Fighters Post: 13 + Jab Post: 21 = Total: 34] @Beep Boop The Coupons wouldn't be valid for years or indefinitely, we haven't determined the exact time they would be valid until, probably for 2-3 months after the colored versions are available. Thanks! September ??, 2017 - Surveys are sent out with no joke... 20 options to choose from? Along with an other box that lets you hand type any color that is not on the list September 22, 2017 - Survey / Pledged Charges [Updates: 6] Retro Fighters 2-time creator on September 22 [Retro Fighters Post: 14 + Jab Post: 21 = Total: 35] @Dazdigo We will be posting an update next week regarding the updated prototype, delivery time and colors. Thank you! September 28, 2017 - Demonstration Video + Surveys [Updates: 7] October 5, 2017 - Color Selections [Updates: 8] --- Quote ---Hello everyone, We wanted to announce the top colors, voted by all of you! Transparent colors seemed to be very popular! Here are the top 5 colors in order: 1. Solid Black 20.26% 2. Transparent Purple 13.55% 3. Transparent Green 8.30% 4. Transparent Blue 8.15% 5. Solid Gold 6.99% We will do the top 2 colors, but we will also do our best to include the other colors as well. We have mentioned this before, but transparent colors require a whole new mold. Thank you! Retro Fighters Thank you! Retro Fighters --- End quote --- October 5 Well I am officially bummed, as my colors I voted for were Transparent Green and Transparent Blue. To only now find out that only Black (cool) and Transparent Purple (I wont be purchasing this), I will probably just end up selling my "discount" codes. Complete let down for all the hype Wesley Orange on October 5 Atomic Purple is the classic Nintendo color for Transparencies, not Green and Blue. I'm not really sure how you're going to be "selling" the discount codes, either, as you'd get maybe a few dollars. Wait for the future, they may make more colors. They are a business and have to make what will sell. Wesley Orange on October 5 You've also been complaining in every single comment from the beginning. You vastly over exaggerate your reactions I noticed "Complete let down for all the hype." What hype? What let down? You're getting a controller you backed. This isn't a carnival or theme park or new game that's been in development for 4 years. Jab Collaborator on October 6 we may get to some more colors too. Your picks were close! |
| ShoothimNow:
2 colors... we get.... 2 colors... October 6 @Wesley Orange (who only replies after my comments), lets look at the hype! Pledge $20 or more - Retro Fighters N64 Controller - Receive 1 X N64 Controller This should say "Receive 1 X Grey N64 Controller", but whatever, I digress. We then go an ENTIRE MONTH saying "COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!! COLORS ARE COMING!!" We have an FAQ: "What color options will be available?" "We have gotten a lot of interest in transparent color options, we will see if this is a possible option. At the end of the campaign we will allow all backers to vote which extra colors you want made. The extra color options will be available online for purchase." We have Stretch Goals: - $20,000 (of the $166,347 raised): Additional Color Options, Backers Get To Vote The Next Color Option - $30,000 (of the $166,347 raised): More Limited Edition Color Options We wait the month, we get the survey: "Which colors would you like to order? *choice of what? 15-20" AWESOME! We then get an update 2 weeks later: "We wanted to announce the top colors, voted by all of you! Transparent colors seemed to be very popular! Here are the top 5 colors in order: 1. Solid Black 20.26% 2. Transparent Purple 13.55% 3. Transparent Green 8.30% 4. Transparent Blue 8.15% 5. Solid Gold 6.99%" FANTASTIC! Blue and Green are on there, we made the cut! Then you read some more... "We will do the top 2 colors (Solid Black 20.26% & Transparent Purple 13.55%). Thanks!" ------------- The hype... was a COMPLETE and UTTERLY let down Alexander James on October 6 @ it was pretty obvious not all colors would be produced, and that we would be receiving the gray version. It's been stated multiple times even before the campaign ended. It isn't their fault you don't pay attention or read all the details before backing a project. October 6 @Alexander James, I would love to see where it has been said that 1 extra color (not black, as they already have a black mold from their prototype) will be produced. October 6 And again, only 1 extra color, that being the highly overrated Transparent Purple! That only 753 / 5555 people wanted. There's a good 4802 other people (4801 minus me) that don't want this color. Black was already guarenteed, but that's not a "limited color". That's the color of their Prototype (*scrolling up, I can already see a *black* controller). Seems like a waste of our time only to get Transparent Purple. Wesley Orange on October 6 @ "Seems like a waste of our time." What time is wasted? How did this waste your time at all? I'm really confused at this point. Your posts make no sense. If you don't want a gray, black, or atomic purple controller, rescind your backing and don't buy any of these. Well Wesley, if only the 8 updates and 35 admin posts were informative on the color selectings..... 2 fecking colors, are you kidding me.... And one color is "black", which is the prototype color, so don't even say that that is going to cost them anything "to make the mold" (meh, whatever, the octagonal resistor plate was added to the front... but still). All that and being 1280% funded... As for best post of all against me. Woke up Christmas Day to this one... David Landstreet on December 25 (regarding the Transfer Pak functionality is being ripped out of the controller and development will not continue [to save money and to push the product out the door faster]) You are NOT a customer, we are all backers of a project. (Producers.) That means we cant act like peasants if theres a change in the product during manufacture. We cant demand customer service because this is not a business storefront, its a group of people who are not involved in a big company. You dont even play the pokemon game, as you stated, you are still getting the equipment needed, just order a vintage stick from ebay and stop spamming the comments of the project. Saying there will be more things stripped out if we dont stand up now is a straw mans argument and very immature too. This is kickstarter, not Milton Bradley Toys co, ltd. Geez get a grip, you ranting maniac. Im shocked your gf puts up with your attitude. I love how you humblebrag about her and put her picture in your profile pic, we get it, you are hetro.. --- Really?.. I Laughing my ass off from this! You pull Kelly into this because of my Facebook login picture? Oh man, and that was bothering you enough Christmas day to post that. These people... hahaha. I splurged this Christmas for a FrameMeister. Currently looking for a scart switcher. From there, I will purchase the appropriate scart cables. Then... will look into RGB modding my system. I will then hook up my systems, as composite looks like poop on my 65 inch screen. I am not about to play Mario or Pokemon on a blurry 65 inch screen. If UltraHDMI comes back in stock, I would love to also go that route, but that's highly unlikely. But the fact that I refuse to connect my N64 to my TV due to picture quality and the fact that Kelly kicks my ass in Pokemon Snap... that entitles you to go ape shit on me and end a comment with: I love how you humblebrag about her and put her picture in your profile pic, we get it, you are hetro... Maybe you (David Landstreet) should get that cock of your ass. Sorry I won't join! Hahahahahahaha Overall, I am sure the controllers will be great. However, how they are handling everything over there on Kickstarter is a joke, and all of the people on the comments are just sucking all the teets of the creators, not having a care in the world. |

^ ^ just made me rage another comment to the kickstarter page, wahoo, feck the man |

I wasn't going to read all that crap because I thought you were giving me shit for having an opinion. Now that I know that's not the case, I'll go read. |

The ^ ^ was the colors fiasco and reasons why it is bullshit we are only getting "2" colors. Personally, I wish I went your route ignition =( I waited til the last minute on purchasing as I was awaiting for the colors list to be released. It never came, so I jumped on 4 controllers. Clearly they would give us 4 different colors right? Nope! They give us a grand total of 3. Grey (default), Black (prototype color), and Transparent Purple (is this the $20,000 stretch goal, or the $30,000 stretch goal? I'm confused now). Glad there are 4 controller ports on the system! If I would have known that there were only going to be 2 extra colors, I would have only purchased 2 controllers... and then got the coupons for the 2x colors down the road. Only time will tell if they will give us more than 2 "limited and more limited colors" |
