Dear Backers,

In this update we want to go over a few last details before you receive delivery of your N64 controllers!

First off, we have officially finished production, now it is all about transit and fulfillment time. We are expecting to receive everything in our warehouse for fulfillment around the week of 2/19. We don't anticipate any delays, but if there were any delays in transit we will notify everyone. Even if a delay were to occur it wouldn't delay shipments by more than a week. Our goal is to get all orders shipped out by the end of February.

Also, there are about 100 backers whom we already emailed that we did not receive your address. If you haven’t already please submit the survey, on the survey there is an area to fill out your shipping address.

If you need to update your address you can still do so by going to the survey section and then updating the address through there.

Finally, once we do ship, everyone will receive a tracking # via email. Again we thank you for your patience and we are are excited to ship these out soon!

What shenanigans? I know they took a vote as to what colored controllers to offer in the future, but I don't think the plan was ever to offer them to those who pledged on Kickstarter. If the controller works as well as the NES one, I'll be picking up a couple colored versions as well.

I'm not sure what you're talking about either.  I backed this pretty early on, and I remember colors being a possibility down the road, but they were pretty clear that backers would get grey ones, and a $10 off coupon for every one they backed.  So basically, for every grey one you pre-ordered you can get a colored controller (when available) for the kickstarter price.  Then they took a vote on colors - my color (gold) lost, so I doubt I'll see that - but I think that was it.

Trust me, it's a cesspool of teenage hormones wanting a release for that damn controller over there, and no one is listening to logic.  Anytime I post, I get immediately shot down. 

The Colors (as a reward mind you, a REWARD) are going to be BLACK and TRANSPARENT PURPLE.  Nothing more.  They get over 10 times what they were originally asking for, and the best they can do (even with the second color incentive unlocked) is 2 colors.

The Lack of Updates:  there is nothing informative at all in their updates, only the fact that they will freeze Hell over to get these controllers out.  To me, they are cutting corners left and right and don't care about bugs (see below) and to keep costs low, eh, fuck it, just get these out ASAP.

No Transfer Pak Compatibility now: ... Well... this was working, and now it's not.  So... fuck the people wanting to purchase a 100% complete controller, and make them stick to a regular N64 controller when they want to use the Transfer Pak.  Only problem is... is... that I ordered 4 controllers.... so.... 4x grey controllers are going in my drawer... along with 4x colored controllers when they are released.... but INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY FIXING THE PROBLEM / ALLOWING THOSE OF US WHO CAN WAIT TIL IT IS FIXED, RetroFighters wants to push their product and say "Feck you consumers!"

Newest Update:  "Controllers are coming".  Pictures?  Nope.... Colored Controller update?  Nope, not really.  Only the fact that "it's a wot of wonny to pwoduce a wold =( =( =( "

In response to all.

They were moderately unclear early on about whether or not you could get colored ones as part of the kickstarter.  Then they were pretty clear, but a lot of folks didn't catch it until it was too late or just at the last minute.  I personally wanted 1 of each color.  Telling me that if I want the backer price for the colored controllers that I have to buy a grey controller for every colored controller is just ridiculous.  Just let me do add-ons for the colors.  I'm not buying 4 grey controllers to get 4 colored controllers, in this case I suppose it would've been 2 controllers and 2 colored controllers.  They were not explicit about how many colored controllers they were going to make so even if you were willing to buy that many grey controllers, you didn't know how many to buy to get the colored controllers at that price.

It just reeks of shenanigans to me.  I'll just wait and buy what controllers I want down the line once they are out.

Plus... I had no interest in the grey controller at all.  I only wanted the colored controllers.

Also, IIRC, the prototype/mockup controllers they showed were black, weren't they?  Kind of misleading if black wasn't even a planned color at that point.

Yes the kickstarter campaign will be just for the gray controllers but other color options that all the backers vote on will be available after the fulfillment of the all tiers are completed. Otherwise it would be too difficult on our side fulfillment wise to keep track of which colors everyone wants to order etc.

We will post something about additional colors soon, I am getting a lot of messages regarding the clear colors, like atomic purple, etc. I am double checking if the clear colors are possible or will add to the cost, so I am double checking into the color options and will post an update soon. Once the campaign ends all backers will take a vote on which other colors they would like to see made.

Regarding the additional colors, yes you will be able to vote on the additional colors after the campaign ends. Everyone will get a survey and get to decide which color they would like to see made in the future. The colored controllers will take a little more time to make than the gray shells. So for the kickstarter campaign it is for the gray version and the colored versions will be available later at retail online about 60-90 days after the gray ones arrive. You can either wait for colored ones or order the gray ones now via Kickstarter. Many of you were interested in the translucent colors like the original N64 controllers, so we are looking into it to see if we can get that done. We will update on this soon. Thanks!

Hi William, we will be posting an update soon, we are waiting for confirmation on a few things regarding colors, octagonal gate and delivery time. We will let everyone know before the campaign ends the expected delivery time so you guys can still decide whether you'd like to still back and wait, we want to be transparent as possible and let everyone know of the production schedule, we also dont want to rush anything, we want to make everyone happy when you get these controllers in your hands.

September 6, 2017 - Colors [Updates: 4]

We wanted to thank everyone for their support on this project. We wanted to post an update regarding the colors. As we have stated before, everyone will get to vote for their color choices once the campaign ends. We have received request for many colors, everything from gold, black, to dual color (bottom of controller one color, top of controller another color) and also request for transparent colors.

Regarding transparent colors, that will take more time as it requires a completely new mould. The other colors can use the existing mold, but for transparent colors will require a completely new mould.

We will still list the transparent colors on the list to vote, along with a full list of other colors.

The colors will come after the initial gray versions are delivered to all backers, everyone who backs a controller will get a promo code for a future colored version, 1 to 1 (for every controller you back you get 1 promo code for colored version). The regular retail price will be $29.99 (for both gray and colored versions), all backers will get a $10.00 promo code to get the controller at the original backing price.

I know everyone is excited for all the color variations, our main focus though it to deliver a quality N64 controller.

Atomic Purple is the classic Nintendo color for Transparencies, not Green and Blue. I'm not really sure how you're going to be "selling" the discount codes, either, as you'd get maybe a few dollars. Wait for the future, they may make more colors. They are a business and have to make what will sell.

@ it was pretty obvious not all colors would be produced, and that we would be receiving the gray version. It's been stated multiple times even before the campaign ended. It isn't their fault you don't pay attention or read all the details before backing a project.

And again, only 1 extra color, that being the highly overrated Transparent Purple! That only 753 / 5555 people wanted. There's a good 4802 other people (4801 minus me) that don't want this color. Black was already guarenteed, but that's not a "limited color". That's the color of their Prototype (*scrolling up, I can already see a *black* controller). Seems like a waste of our time only to get Transparent Purple.

Well Wesley, if only the 8 updates and 35 admin posts were informative on the color selectings..... 2 fecking colors, are you kidding me....  And one color is "black", which is the prototype color, so don't even say that that is going to cost them anything "to make the mold" (meh, whatever, the octagonal resistor plate was added to the front... but still).  All that and being 1280% funded...

I Laughing my ass off from this!  You pull Kelly into this because of my Facebook login picture?  Oh man, and that was bothering you enough Christmas day to post that.  These people... hahaha.  I splurged this Christmas for a FrameMeister.  Currently looking for a scart switcher.  From there, I will purchase the appropriate scart cables.  Then... will look into RGB modding my system.  I will then hook up my systems, as composite looks like poop on my 65 inch screen.  I am not about to play Mario or Pokemon on a blurry 65 inch screen.  If UltraHDMI comes back in stock, I would love to also go that route, but that's highly unlikely.  But the fact that I refuse to connect my N64 to my TV due to picture quality and the fact that Kelly kicks my ass in Pokemon Snap... that entitles you to go ape shit on me and end a comment with: I love how you humblebrag about her and put her picture in your profile pic, we get it, you are hetro...  Maybe you (David Landstreet) should get that cock of your ass.  Sorry I won't join! Overall, I am sure the controllers will be great.  However, how they are handling everything over there on Kickstarter is a joke, and all of the people on the comments are just sucking all the teets of the creators, not having a care in the world.

Oh God no man, I am completely against how they RetroFighters is running things over there on Kickstarter.  It's complete bullshit.  The ^ ^ was the colors fiasco and reasons why it is bullshit we are only getting "2" colors.

Personally, I wish I went your route ignition =( I waited til the last minute on purchasing as I was awaiting for the colors list to be released.  It never came, so I jumped on 4 controllers.  Clearly they would give us 4 different colors right?  Nope!  They give us a grand total of 3.  Grey (default), Black (prototype color), and Transparent Purple (is this the $20,000 stretch goal, or the $30,000 stretch goal?  I'm confused now).  Glad there are 4 controller ports on the system!

If I would have known that there were only going to be 2 extra colors, I would have only purchased 2 controllers... and then got the coupons for the 2x colors down the road.

Only time will tell if they will give us more than 2 "limited and more limited colors"
